But back to the scene. I was seriously rolling eyes at the "Seduction" sequence, because JUST like you said Nurey, it was sooo patchy! Matlab ek second he was doing the classic Manik rubs his hands down his face thing, and the next second he'd gotten a leaf to prop the romance? Hain??? Whaaa? 😳 Matlab hadd hi random tha. That leaf bit was the WORST🤣...pura KACHRA scene tha...ughh...can't believe it was these same two that did the confession/kiss bit so well...this entire seduction was a big senseless khichdi only redeemed by Nandu's PUNCH...I mean it started off kinda sweet with Nandu putting her head on his shoulder lekin uske baad editing waale bhaiyya took a Parth style open eyed nap and everything went down the drain😕

But the punch, the punch, the punch!!! It was like, SHUKAR HAI, finally a woman who doesn't think half assed A, B, C reasons behind the male lead being so inexplicably twisted in his head is ANYTHING on justifying his ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE behaviour towards her!! Like WAY TO GO Nandu, go show every other female lead on TV what having a backbone is about, and how your "loweee" doesn't make you a perpetual punchbag! 👏 Quite the contrary, if anything 😆 I know,man...all those LEGIONS of Kekta and Gul leads that don't even have a peanut in the name of a brain in their heads should watch and learn from Nandu...for once they didn't show a girl just stewing miserably in her heartbreak but ACTUALLY using her brains to figure out the truth...and yes it helps that she was dealing with a GADHA of THIS dumb a level😆...Yay for female intelligence and intuition being respected in a show for ONCE👏

Back to Nandu. LOVED how woman held her wits COMPLETELY in hand, plugged him in, punched him out, and then gave him a reality check dressing down. Manik Malhotra, frankly, you got nothing for what you gave. Like the point when he tells her he went through the same pain, I was like, you can't be for real dude, you can't be... See it's not like Manik DIDN'T go through ANY pain...but yeah the WAY they made him say it there, he just sounded SO stupid that no one will sympathize with him...I was saying this in the EDT also, Manik got really watered down in all this...not that I didn't enjoy the laughs his dumbness provided but thoda credibility also took a hit😕...but maybe this will be a turning point...let's see.

But SO SO glad, KYY made Nandu have LEGIT answers to give back, to all the feeble attempts he made at justifying what, it was increasingly visible in that moment, was starting to seem like a rather bad idea even to him. Yes, the punch as usual opened his eyes and when Nandu laid it out for him, he also FINALLY started to see just HOW badly he's messed this up and his conviction in his reasons was totally shaken.

And yet, yet he could go around and pull her out of Dhruv's hold the way he did. Oh Manik. Haven't you figured? This is not Alia. Make all the googly eyes you want. You've dug a grave, and frankly, you can't find your way out of it by digging it deeper. Just saying. LOL but I liked that bit...SO Manik...I like how they are both so STRONG WILLED...usually in these dumb love-hate stories, only the guy is pulling the girl around and she's just fuming pointlessly...but Nandu is one STRONG girl who gives it back as good...she's making a POINT of showing her pain to him now any chance she gets...and he knows now that he deserves it so he's going to take it also...but they will find their way again😆...these kind of resolutions are anyday better than contrived melodrama.

I just think even he showed better substance than Manik, in pulling off the KKHH scene, because according to their 'I'm the loser' conversation, he's made whatever peace he will make about the Nandu heartbreak. Toh kam-se-kam I have the memory of a guppy about the kiss we just shared toh ni kiya usne. Unlike Baba, who then went on to stamp "loser" on Nandu's head

I'm not saying I'd like a nicey nice goody two shoes Manik, ever. I'm just saying even Dhruv - KKHH chori se hi sahi - stood by his action.

LOL I can't believe Dhruv is being given a MEDAL over this...everyone is forgetting so conveniently how this guy behaved the night of Musicana being totally TONE DEAF to Nandu's plight and dancing away with her.

Manik gadha hi sahi, flawed hi sahi is a more compelling character anyday...yes he stamped that "loser" on Nandu's head and that was horrible...but that's cuz the stakes were higher for him to have to enact that drama...yahaan Dhruv ko toh life mein chinta hi kya hai bhai...one day heartbreak, next day make out with another girl...masttt life😆

Manik in his own dumb way was trying to be the bigger man and do something for the friend he loves so much...Dhruv ne kya kiya hai bhai? Chocolate khai and makeout kiya😆

It's not just that Manik has mollycoddled the Fab 5 and taken over too much responsibility on himself...they themselves hardly seem to think about HIM...bhool gaye kal ka dialogue? "Should we CARE about Manik and Nandu?"😆😆

Yaaarrr I know Dhruv was a a retard, still prolly is.😆
But aaaj usne pahli baar .. Kuch KIYA !!👏

KUCH toh kiya !! 😆😆😆

Mujhe issi baat se khushi ka thikana nahin .. 🤣!!!

And personally I don't mind him not seeing thru Nandu's tears. Nandu is not his to worry about. Manik ka ssarr dard hai. Wohi sambhale. I am soooper happy Dhruv is off his unhealthy obsession with Nandu and finally found someone more befitting of him.

That and my DhruLya gaaon wala ship has finally sailed .. jaeeb random makeout se hi sahi 😆

Matlab the bar was set SO low for Dhruv ki usne KUCH toh kiya and HERO ban gaya...

While Manik ka bar is set higher so his perpetual gadhapan makes him lose points😆

I somehow don't think Dhruv is rid of his Nandu obsession for good...it was noteworthy that he dropped ALYA on seeing Manik, not NANDU😆...and this after he supposedly already suspects that Manik-Nandu ke beech koi khichdi pak rahi hai😆

The way he opened his shirt and DUMPED it on her, and after Nandu throws it away ... that chastised puppy look on Baba's face ... SO much LULz 🤣
And yesss ... Dhruv KABHI koi decision LE payega kisi ke tutions yaa prodding ke baghair eh toh kisi ne sapne mein bhi nahin socha thaa ... Aaj chalo, hormones ke sahare hi sahi ... hez finally done something on his own, without anyone guiding/pushing/training him. And that Alya ka haath pakad ke rokna bit ... For someone like DHRUV , that is like being SINGHAM-level ballsy 🤣

Arey yaar, Nurey, Dhruv is not getting brownie points - from me at least - I'm just saying that Manik needs to see how low his benchmark was, while going wrong! Ke matlab, even Dhruv did something partly right! 😆
And about Manik's pain again, of course, he didn't cruise through it! But I was just shaking head at him trying to pitch his pain in that line of argument and defense, as equivalent to Nandu's, because - and yayyy for her to say EXACTLY that! - he made the choice! Matlab, paagal hai banda, even bringing up his own pain in this context, at this point! Of course, it is also probably the most spontaneous thing he could say. Because in his head - and in his defense - he wasn't being mahaan. He really wasn't. He's just someone who was capable of deluding himself to the extent of believing that Nandu would actually be happier with Dhruv - despite what the girl shared with him. The good thing is Nandu's words chamak gaye usko, finally.

And of course I'm glad he pulled her away from alien boy 😆 I'm just saying Nandu might not feel similarly benign about it 😆 Aur phir Manik ko pata hi, what the outcome of "not benign" Nandu is 😆

On a serious note, I think I love not just the fact that Nandini got be a female lead with a wits even in love; but the fact that she goes with her connected dots, her intuition, the signs glaring at her about her suspicions, also says SO MUCH about how, unlike every other bichari lead on Indian TV, Nandu, despite the crap Manik says to her at more than one occasion in support of his facade, Nandu doesn't reduce herself in her own estimation. There needs to be a very grounded self-confidence in her as a person, to not fall for Manik's demeaning ploys, but still believe that dude did fall for her, and that she's ENTIRELY good enough to be special to him. For bringing out that trait to her character, underneath this standing up for herself, I'm so happy about the treatment of this track 👏 And on that note, how ironic, that Manik, the male character, in fact lacked that sort of belief in himself. In an interesting manner - even though it may or may not have been intentional in the writing - it sort of aligns with the kind of history that is allegedly Manik's. He's a lot of things on the surface, but clearly, an honest to the bone self-esteem is not something that comes as a package deal with any amount of ego or arrogance. In his subconsious, he is not good enough; he could convince himself, with the most twisted sense of logic and loyalty ever, that Nandini would be happier with Dhruv and that he was in the way! Unlike Nandu, who pieced the understated signs of his attention towards her, still, together, to realize his words could not be true, it did not even occur to him that the girl whom he time and again accused of smiling at Dhruv, had gone and kissed him without holding back her heart for a moment, had shared something so honest, and personal with him. Matlab, major wala facepalm!

LOL my god you think very HIGHLY of this pairing, don't you?😆

That was such a pathetic makeout session btw...looks like UG is the one person in the cast to draw the line at shooting actual kissing scenes😆...

Man I'm sorry but this pair has no build up...I don't see any depth in them...and I resent that they used that classic KKHH pose on them...matlab kuch bhi *rolls eyes*

While Manik-Nandu have so much more scope to discuss/analyze despite or rather BECAUSE of Manik's gadhapan😆

There were many nice bits in the epi if we ignore the stupid editing of the "seduction" bit...the shirt bit as you mentioned...LOL this Manik and his constantly conflicted ways...trying to put on a facade but still feeling hurt at her rejection😆...also him trying to act all like "I'm just lighting the fire to keep the animals away" and Nandu sarcastically saying that yeah ofcourse he isn't scared of the darkness😆...his chastised expression after that also was LOL😆

I so wish the seduction bit ki editing hadn't been THIS crap...poignant banaa sakte the usko but it all just came across as random and patchy.

Also another thing worth noting is that Manik didn't even ONCE ask her what she's doing😆...matlab for the sake of surprise or drama only puch sakta tha😆...but he didn't...the moment she came close to him, uski bolti waise hi band ho gayi🤣...he couldn't even manage his usual putdowns.

And even now neither of them have used the LOVE word TECHNICALLY lekin itni UNDERSTANDING hai b/w them of the depth of their feelings...I like how that's been shown...she simply asked him if he wanted her out of his life...and he said Never...baaki sab understood hai about what they had b/w them that doesn't seem to need a label yet.

Manik definitely has a self-esteem problem...he overcompensates by PROJECTING a confident, "monster" persona...it's like a case of, "Oh being good never got me anywhere so I'm going to be BAD cuz I'll have POWER and people won't mess with me"...when Nandu came into his life, he had doubts for the first time...for the first time someone calling him a MONSTER pinched...cuz pehle ppl were just SCARED of him but didn't call him out on his nonsense...and uske baad the way they juxtaposed it with Nandu always playing up Dhruv's goodness in front of him...and never having much good to say about Manik...that insecurity took hold inside Manik and just stayed...so when Dhruv confessed, Manik calculated the odds in his own head and found himself very lacking...

The thing is his feelings, his love for Nandu was so new...it was easy to talk of hamesha promises but he hadn't really processed what they had before Dhruv's confession blew everything out of his head...so yes he made a decision for Nandini without asking her which was very wrong...so he deserves to hear all this from Nandu.

But I don't think Manik had it easy anywhere either...Karma was biting him right off the bat since he tried to pull the sacrifice...Before he imposed all the pain and tears on Nandu, he cried quite a river himself😆...just that we all have forgotten that in the recent flurry of gadhapan he's displayed...but barring a few exceptions, he always felt her pain...why would he show up at her house that night otherwise unable to help himself from checking up on her?

Nandu's hurt is all very much justified and Manik deserves the lashing out he's getting from her but this is not to say I don't sympathize with Manik too...he made mistakes, yes but his reasons are understandable...

I like how the story is poised at this point...Nandu rightfully feels angry over him taking the choice away from her and is letting him physically feel her pain now too😆...while Manik in guilt mode is trying to clarify to her😆...atleast the facade of monster, sacrifice etc. has been ripped off😆

Word about Nandu being such a refreshing break from bechari/brainless female leads...and yes she stood by her words...Manik COULDN'T break her self-confidence despite all the lies he used to push her away...she didn't think less of herself...stood by her conviction, her faith, her intuition and uncovered the truth.

True that. It is an interesting overlap. The way he went rather spontaneously with his favour for Nandini, without - like you pointed out - processing it through; and how quickly his lack of self esteem compelled him to withdraw again. His reactions are definitely understandable. On which note, I don't actually think Manik was watered down, per se, in the last few days - but sure, Parth/editing didn't quite live up to the potential of certain moments. His conflict has been very evident and I guess we've all maintained that this "I'm giving Nandu up for Dhruv and her" wasn't going to work very long, because he couldn't bear to see the guy lay a finger on his girl 😆

And we've had all the situations where he's masked his concern for her with literally stupid antics. Like dumping the shirt on her head aaj 😆 Matlab de raha hun, but ehsaan maano! If it was an important enough point to be raised, it could be pointed out how unlike the first time in the store room, when he was still a lot more of Monster Manik, it was here and now that he'd tried so hard to make it feel all so whatever. Like, he just had to go and do everything to make a point exactly opposite of the truth.

Khair! I think now is a good turn in the dynamic. I'm positively more excited about the precap for tomorrow, than I was for the seduction bit. (Except that I'm dreading whatever memory loss or random twist they claim to be up to. Seriously. Why can't we have one show banking on the mere complexities of human psyche to create drama, than having to go all tragic and mega?) Abi ke liye, kal ke scenes better be mastt!

Oh I'm excited for the precap too...but before that I'm excited to know WHAT Manik will say to Nandu after pulling her away from Dhruv😆...I loved that ending moment in the epi...and yet again it was so evident that for these two, it's like they exist in their own world...the moment he pulled her away from Dhruv, they were both OBLIVIOUS to the other two ppl standing there...koi lena dena hi nahin hai...lol...and Manik had such an earnest and determined guilty puppy dog look in his face...I'm really enjoying this😆

I said watered down cuz I feel that the scene today could have had more assertion from Manik in terms of dialogue...these "what? huh?'" kinda lines they've been giving him since the past few days just to show him avoiding Nandu's questions is lame...but then again, maybe the PUNCH knocked the daylights out of him and left him speechless yet again...lol

Thing is, I do feel bad for him too...I want to see him guilty, yes and making it up to Nandu but I want Nandu to understand why he did what he did too...it was unfair to her, yes...she needs to explain that to him...but he well and truly did do it for his friend...not to prove himself a messiah.

Memory loss idea seems unlikely since we've gotten the PUNCH boom now...lol...I suspect the coming week or so will go in Manik wooing Nandu and atoning for his stupidities.
