No it wasn't just there. It was everywhere. I checked Hindu panchaang/calendar sites too. People celebrated janamshtami on 3 different days in 1984.

Some festivals are celebrated according to the regional calender, that is why the different dates i believe.

In our place it is on September 15 and TN September 16 this year.

The Chingam month (from Simham or Lion) is named after the constellation Leo and so on, ashtamirohini.

So this research all ultimately are related to barun b'day, we are gone cases.
