If I remove any childhood attachments, I have to say Mulan! She was brave and strong and yet relateable.
As a child I loved Ariel and The Little Mermaid overall; it was such a visually beautiful and exciting movie.
Of the recent Disney films, I enjoyed Frozen. It was cute and funny and I liked a lot of the themes they presented. Brave was visually cool but I found Merida rather irritating, to be honest.

Mulan was indeed a beautiful character. Very unusual Disney princess of her time. And she got her prince charming for the person she was and not for looking beautiful while sleeping on a bed. But since one always tends to cherish the last film watched most, I will have to say my favourite is Elsa. More than finding a hero, her journey was about finding her individuality and overcoming her fears. I loved Frozen and the fact that 'love' in the film was about family.

As a child, I too loved Ariel most as Little Mermaid was a regular feature of the The Disney Hour that I used to watch. She was part of my childhood on almost a regular basis. Disney Hour was my favourite hour of the day. My absolute favourite Disney character was, however, Uncle Scrooge. He was the real deal. Ducktales is my favourite cartoon. I feel sorry for the kids now as they have to do with foul-mouth Shin Chan.

I posted that Disney Princess question after E! Online tweeted this article: eonli.ne/1sFAUDV . But just now they tweeted something even better. (Must be part of maleficent's promotion)
An Artist Reimagined Disney Princesses With Different Races and the Results Will Blow Your Mind

The simplest of Google searches will show you that Disney has a rather, er, complicatedhistory when it comes to race: How different races are depicted, if different races are even depicted at all (only four of the "official" princesses are women of color: Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, and, most recently, Tiana. Disney didn't have a black princess until 2009).

So Tumblr artist lettherebedoodles created W.O.C. of her own, reimagining some Disney princesses and other female characters with a "race-bent" twist. We would watch all of these movies.

"There wasn't really any rhyme or reason to my choices," the artist, who goes by TT, explained. "I just started fiddling with the images and these happened."

"I honestly just did this for fun. No political agenda, no ulterior motives," TT continued. "I just love Disney and chose a few of my favorite characters to alter. I feel like there's beauty in every racial background, and this is honestly nothing more then an exploration of different races from a technical and artistic standpoint."

"Fairy tales are constantly being taken out of their cultural context. Most of the fairy tales that we know now were taken out of their original cultural context and altered," TT says. "Aladdin was originally set in China. The Frog Prince was Latin, and was altered over and over again in several countries. The stories have been and can be altered in many ways. *shrugs*"

"I create racebent characters simply for fun and because I'd love to see more diversity in our media," TT concludes. To which we repeat: We want all of these movies for real. Let's start with reimagined Jasmine (that one knocked our socks off) and go from there!

Now HT also has written an article on Emma in Paani, and that too 'with inputs from Prashant Singh'. The quote from the 'insider' I believe was not there in the previous articles, or was it? I hope this is actually news verified from some inside source rather than just the same rehashed version of the other articles, with a quote from an insider thrown in to look unique.

It's believed that only Kapoor and producer Aditya Chopra are in the know about it. "The casting decisions are being kept secret. A huge announcement is planned soon," says an insider. - See more at:

..and is it because we are Sushant fans?

I don't think one can predict about anything. I thought Main Tera Hero will flop, but it didn't.
