I agree and disagree with the article. While there is a dearth of working women in daily soaps and the content always seems to be old wine story, the article definitely does not paint housewives favorably😕 and of course the easy way out, blame the audience when PH's rarely think outside of the box.

I agree with you Savs. Even Cate Balanchett said in her acceptance speech at Oscars that people love to see films centered around women and they make money. In the same article they mentioned Shanti and Tara - both had strong working women. The thing that worked was the characters were strong till end and that is why audience could connect to them. Here PH starts out with a strong character or it is touted to be one of the kind that TV has seen and in the end everything is swept off the rug. That is not going to gain any audience and then the PH's readily blame that the audience doesn't expect something new when actually it was their fault to be not able to weave a story more tightly.

@bold:- Agree with this 100%. When nothing works out the PH readily blames the audience even without trying to analyze where the story or the show didn't work out. Case in point - IPK had the fan following in the initial months because the female character was not weak and gave tit for tat to what Arnav did. The audience left after the hate marriage because frankly the PH couldn't weave a better story and most of the time they made Khushi do OTT things which they couldn't connect to. Same is the case with Zoya and QH - she was strong in the initial months hence QH got the fan following then the multiple nikaahs where she didn't even open her mouth made the audience leave the show never to be back and hence even a Taj Mahal dream wedding couldn't get the audience back. What the PH need to understand is that when you write a female character then make sure you keep her the way you have visualized at the beginning. Dusting off everything and watering down your lead just to make it convenient to glorify the male lead is not going to get you anywhere.

WOW this got to be the slowest Take thread ever. So Friday night, not doing anything went around the forums trolling and here is a post that I liked on RR forum.

I said this way back on Take thread itself(maybe a month back) that the creatives did a big mess of Paro's character when they got her back to Ranawat Haveli for the 'chemistry' thing to have going and they could have weaved a better story with keeping paro and rudra separate(like in Kaadal Kotha). Chalo looks like some people at least now are accepting that the creatives messed up the plot at this crucial juncture. Now TRPs not rising has some people question the logic but honestly the bus is long gone. We can justify however we want on IF but the truth is very few people who are TRP audience read IF and the posts. And even with the Trump Card of Rudra's mother reveal as well as the ME with danger lurking everywhere didn't get the creatives the jump in the TRPs means that the show indeed is not working out for the common audience. Paro was lost for me when she came back to Rudra at Ranawat Haveli and the next day they had Rasiya-ve playing when paro's shirt gets torn. No idea if they can revive the character now.

Well sometimes the TRP aunties are correct.

Queen... oh...how desperately i want to watch it is directly proportional to the distance i have to travel to watch it... the woes of living in a small town.

But we are planning our annual trip to des and i hope it stays in theaters till then.

While the world is raving about of House of cards season 2, i have started watching True Detective and i can say it has greater character sketches than House of cards.
