The problem is with the viewers too.

If you observe any dance performances people care more about the emotion than the dance. You can just jump around the stage crying and they'll give you a standing ovation.

So the directors will want the actors to do the same and actors will comply.

It could just be a case of bad direction but I always look for valid reasons before going for the obvious ones😆
