Okay... so for once I sat watching one whole episode of IPK 2. And I can't quite figure out why it is called IPK 2 - to begin with. Don't get me wrong ... I don't mean Arnav and Khushi. IPK 2 can be IPK 2 - only if the story has that personality. IPK had a definite beginning and a definite end ... yes, it did meander, but it kept to its lines, more or less - which is not something you can say for most other (even successful) TV shows.
I don't mean to be critical here ---- just wondering aloud about the thoughts the episode brought in.
Poor Shlok is still trying to use his eyebrows (if not eyes) as Arnav did. Someone needs to tell him he's overdoing it. Somehow he looks like Arnav's doppelgnger - I mean, if Arnav was around, he'd feel haunted. I can't imagine what Arnav's eyebrows, eyes or smirk might do if he saw Shlok doing what Shlok does. We even might get to hear a very slow mutter of - "Okaayyy..."
Poor Aastha... distraught as she is - earned a comment from my Ma ... why is she trying to act like Khushi? I did not reply.
I remember most (read 99.99%) episodes of IPK - the one and only - left us waiting for the next one.
I remember that it was barely the time for the episode, and most of the fandom was so attentive that most FB streets were deserted.
I remember that the moment the episode was over, no matter how it was, there was instant discussion on it - that refused to die down for hours - or days.
After IPK 2 episode? Well, let's see...
This was the one where the animosity between the leads was almost tangible.
Shlok barely let Aastha finish a sentence.
Aastha barely got to dry her weepy eyes.
If it was any more, Shlok was shaking her like a raggedy doll - only it was verbal.
Aastha's made up her mind that Shlok is bad luck.
Shlok's made up his mind to prove himself likewise.
Aastha's decided to get a job for the sake of a higher goal in life.
Shlok's decided to give her the job for the sake of a lower goal in life.
One should like Aastha. One should hate Shlok.
So ... while they communicate what they wanted to, yet... I'm yet to feel anything for them. I do not find myself wondering 'what next?'. I really am not sympathizing with Aastha; I really am not feeling like murdering Shlok... , or maybe I am too cold for that...
It's more like -- mind, yeah. heart, no!
That's more of IPK's make up; but without the personality of the story, it's only make up. I still wish they'd do themselves justice and their story justice - and do their own thing.
All in all... when the episode got over and we saw the Precap, the reaction was - 'Hmm.. yeah, well... whatever!'
Does that sound mean? I am sorry if it does. I just don't get why it is called IPK 2...!
