Making Of A Human Android
It is said to be an era of technology. With the technological advent, there is more and more dependency over the gadgets. Life without technology is similar to a life without the basic necessities of like food, air and water. But such dependency is not good if one turns a blind eye to the penetrating roots of it. It has become so intertwined in or lives that it wouldn't be wrong to say figuratively that man is turning into a robot.
Let us shuffle through the roots of our childhood. If we rummage through our memories we may stumble over a childhood story which went by the name – 'The Wizard of Oz'. In the story there was a character namely 'Tin Woodman' who wanted a heart from the wizard. He was in reality a robot. Funny thing that he never realized was the fact that he had feelings and the gift of silk heart from wizard was just a mere imitation. The faith in wizard leads him to believe that the silk cloth stuffed with saw dust was a heart rather it was his experience that infused feelings in him - he didn't need a heart for that. It is ironical that in the present world a person runs away from the feelings, trying to stifle them down so that they can move forward in their quest to success. It is such a high end cut throat competition that no heights of success is enough to suffice a man. He just keeps on wanting more. There is no contentment for him whereas the world is like a pack of wolves ready to prance upon the lamb. People look for a sign of weakness - a slight vulnerability leads to him being shredded into numerous pieces. There's no mercy whatsoever.
A man can work on his talents, his personality; control his traits but he cannot influence things around him neither he can manipulate people. No man is perfect. Everyone has flaws. These flaws can affect others too. They need help of others to overcome their imperfections. Under such circumstances they turn to their kin's – not everyone can afford a facility. Times like these they look for a shoulder of their loved ones. But such is life's play that time is the one thing they cannot spare. People are so busy working and earning for their loved ones that in the process they forget the very reason why were they there at the first place. Many people turn a blind eye to other's sufferings and look out for the prospects they achieve from it.
Selfishness is the need of hour – they say. It is true. One needs to be selfish. It's difficult to survive as a saint in this world. But it doesn't imply that one forget their complete humanity in the process. The heart is overruled by the logical mind. People look out for their immediate family and try to exonerate themselves from the responsibility of others. A greeting sent via mail is becoming the mark of their love. Gone are the days of providing a smile via small talks, but these are the days where texting has replaced talking, greetings have replaced wishes and social networking replacing the family. There are jokes regarding this but there lies a truth too which one knows deep inside their hearts.
Change can never be stopped or hindered. It is against the laws of nature. Revolutions are for the betterment of humankind. Ceasing them is not solution – it never was, it never will be. The solution rather lies in contemplating over what is important. Priorities need to be set up and arranged to suit it. It may sometimes include taking a step back. But one thing we should realize that taking a step back is not the sign of cowardice but rather it is a mark of forward thinker. Taking a step we are actually taking two steps back. One may not see it immediately but with time they realize it and they repent.
All these things are easier said than done. They say – 'Advice are given better than followed'. No one denies that but there is no harm in taking a step in this direction where we have so much to gain with nothing to lose. We find a way to strive. But its time to find a way to live and the day we realize that is the day we truly start living.
