Completely different topic.

Every year around this time Indian media comes up with a list of top 10 colleges in the country in every category.I wonder if it is of any use to the students who aspire to get into these colleges😕

It is not like I have an issue with these kind of lists because our institution always figures in this lists no matter who makes the list.But how useful is this to general public?

Oh yes! We too have such a list: its called the US news and world report of best medical schools and best hospitals.

the medical schools are ranked by research and primary care and the hospitals are ranked as per speciality.

My alma mater and my hospital both feature in this list too

apparently its supposed to be useful when applying for med school and tells you what MCAT score and what GPA is required to gain admission

On the institution..In my profession it is all just blah...CA is toh governed by only one institute..and is more about the coaching classes u opt for 🤔...I was a student from an okayish coaching class instead of the one churning out rankers at the drop of the hat...at one time they claimed that they had All India 57 rankers in CA Final, ...Dude the merit list only has 50??!! Even if there are people sharing ranks, all the rankers do not come from Mumbai, infact maximum come from Kota, which is a place in Rajasthan...bakwaas ki bhi had hoti hai

Our direct competition is with MBAs, where this insti stuff kinda matters

IIM A is the best in all the list, followed by IIM B, and XLRI and the power of being associated with these institutes may get one a decent job...but its not in the overhyped range people generally talk about...I know of people who are doing very well for themselves even though their insti doesnt feature in the list and some from IIM A who are still struggling to find their footing

At the end of the day, it comes back to self improvement... even if one is from the best uni/ insti in the world...JMO

I don't think even Shivji can be as McDreamy😆

IIM A is where they shot 3I and Amish Tripathi and Chetan Bhagat are both from IIM A

I am in LOVE with the Shiva Trilogy and filled with admiration for Amish's work

The only CB book I have ever liked is two states and I hope Arjun and Alia to justice to it

I did not like FPS and felt that Raju Hirani worked his magic and turned 3I into what it was.

Dude no comparison with American shows to give Shiv a complex😆😆

Well IIMA peeps do have brilliant success stories..the makemytrip guy, edelweiss honcho etc..coz they do think out of the box...

I have even heard of one rejecting a bombastic offer from an MNC to become a professional vegetable vendor/ supplier!! N he is doing very very well!!

but for those 20-30 success stories, there are many who couldnt rise above the expectations

I have loved season 1-4 a lot!! OMG Denny was like my fav character.I think I cried when he died...😭

I think here also they are following more or less the same method,research,faculty, health care and specialities. Our place is more or less consistent always there in top 5.😳Feel proud to be a student as well as the faculty of this institution😳Truely made me what I am.😊Every year they come around meet people take photographs.😆
