honestly im not sure why. its also kinda like why are the love-hate relationships so popular. the whole strict, quiet, "saaru" boss, and the outgoing, lively yet hard working assistant. and the whole boss has a tragic past, behind the reason of their cold personality. and then the whole friendship, love blossoms, and their assistant/secretary gets them out of their shell..loli think people like the whole stark opposites, dynamics. and placing these dynamics in a workplace setting, brings a lot of opportunities for a show. and mainly its a popular concept, so a lot of shows have went for it.idk if i made any sense😆 i attempted to answer this
