Yeah those dadis are super annoying. Those dadi characters that they show on screen are totally not how dadis are in reality. Both my dadis from mum side and dad side are totally awesome!
The girl's parents ...well lol the dad doesn't seem like the one we see in the promos. He is over protective and has restrictions on this 19 year old girl as if she was an elementary school age girl! 😆

Amy read dis.

Anna Hazare continues his fast against corruption on the third day as no consensus seems to be reached between the centre and the state on the issue. Despite appeals made by Sonia Gandhi, Hazare and the protestors seems determined to not compromise. CNBC-TV18's Siddharth Zarabi shares details of the movement.

Below is a verbatim transcript of Siddharth Zarabi 's report. Also watch the accompanying video.

It is clear that there is no compromise that has happened so far. The key points that talks are stuck on is that the activists led by Anna Hazare want the government to notify a committee with more than 50% civil society members to draft the Lokpal Bill. Clearly, this something the government is not willing to do. Earlier today, the chief interlocutor from the government's side, Kapil Sibal explained the difficulties in the government on deciding the move. However, now that it's the third day and as we can see more and more people are joining in at this particular location, it is clear that the mood and the feelings of the people are not going to be taken by the technicalities of law formulation.

Anna Hazare has already said that he will continue this fast for an indefinite period of time. The number of people who are here is constantly increasing. At this point of time, as far as the people are concerned the Lokpal Bill is something that they wanted yesterday. They don't even want to wait till tomorrow. Whether the government can do it or whether the system of administration allows it? These are question that the government has not been able to answer so far and the manner in which the mood is building up here, it is clear that the government is on a major back foot.

Amy read this.

Lokpal means 'Protector of people'.
Lokpal bills were introduced in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 ,2008, and 2010, yet they were never passed and its pending. Current Lokpal Bill, drafted by the following:
  • Former Supreme Court judge Santosh Hegde,
  • Lawyer Prashant Bhushan and Right to Information (RTI)
  • Activist Arvind Kejriwal

Retired Army officer Anna Hazare, Retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi and other known people like Swami Agnivesh, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, and Mallika Sarabhai are also part of the movement, called India Against Corruption
Here is the list of points covered in LokPal Bill:
  • An institution called Lokpal at the centre and Lokayukta in each state will be set up.
  • Like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission, they will be completely independent of the governments. No minister or bureaucrat will be able to influence their investigations.
  • Cases against corrupt people will not linger on for years anymore: Investigations in any case will have to be completed in one year. The trial should be completed in the next year so that the corrupt politician, officer or judge is sent to jail within two years.
  • The loss that a corrupt person caused to the government will be recovered at the time of conviction.
  • How will it help a common citizen: If the work of any citizen is not done in the prescribed time in any government office, the Lokpal will impose a financial penalty on guilty officers, which will be given as compensation to the complainant.
  • The members will be selected by judges, citizens and constitutional authorities and not by politicians, through a completely transparent and participatory process.
  • CVC (Central Vigilance Commission), departmental vigilance and anti-corruption branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation will be merged into the Lokpal. The Lokpal will have complete powers and machinery to independently investigate and prosecute any officer, judge or politician.
  • It will be the duty of the Lokpal to provide protection to those who are being victimised for raising their voice against corruption.
