I still address my parents, grandparents, uncles/aunts and everyone by their names 😕 (I know I m in for great trouble in future, but old habits die hard ) The only time I would call them Maa or Papa is when i really need something😉 Even at school and college, I used to converse mostly in English...and it was pretty easy to beat-the-bush around "Sir" and "Ma'am"s...I used to stare at my frnd in Grad School and say "Why r u calling him 'Sir', when u can call him 'Marek'?"

whaat? If i called my mom or dad by their names..I think theyd kick me out of the house 😆 I call my older sister by her name..and whenever I call her in front of older Bengalis (my family's relatives or friends]..they get shocked and probably think its extremely disrespectful
=/

To be honest..I don't know much about our north Eastern states😕

#1: "India is not a safe place for White Tourists!"

Many ppl believe it, and many of us might deny it...But just a small incident from my trip to Agra 4yrs ago...
There was this guy (He called himself a tourist guide) explaining abt Taj Mahal to a bunch of Americans or maybe Europeans. He was explaining all crap, but the tourists were listening to him intently, and then this little girl (Tourist Guide's kid sis) comes into the scene asks him "Bhaiya yahaan kya kar rahe ho?", he replies "Angrezon ko Topi pehna raha hoon!" I mean, sometimes don't we as a part of a particular community do something unacceptable, and then our whole community gets branded something? Why do we even do such things?

On a side-note, even I never knew a great deal about the north-eastern states till I met these bunch of classmates from those places in college

lol Samia😆, thats one thing I am not getting kicked out of my house for. Even my brother is like me, well all my cousins n other family-frnds I grew up with are like this...If they start kicking us out, probably they would end up with no "Heirs" in the family 😆😉

Btw, Hows Perfy? Haven't seen her in a long while!

Edit: I think respect is something u feel, u don't have to show it by calling anyone Sir or Ma'am or whatever!

That would be an amazing read,I would like to know so many things...For starters how his daughter managed to top the state medical exams..
You know I read this excerpt from a book"Pathology of corruption"..I cant find it here in the US.
Well the guy mentioned an incident in which a minister sent a plane to his native place to get him some pajamas..wouldn't it have been cheaper if he just bought some new ones.
I lose hope about India's future when I learn such things.

@Sai Baba, No comments. I am already in great trouble...don't want to invite more😉

@OSHO, the 1st thing that ever got me interested in reading abt him was this college mate of mine, she was all crazy abt him n his teachings...When I asked her, "What is he all about?" and this is what she replied, "Free and Open Sex!!!" Haven't tried to learn more about him since then😕

@Dalai Lama, I don't know if I am that much into Spirituality to even try reading about these ppl.

@Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar...What do u guys feel about these fellows?

Osho and Dalai lama..I liked them because of their attitudes..they admitted their fallibility.
And I think people who look at Osho's stuff because of"free and Open SEx" just need an excuse to legitimize some things.
When Dalai lama was questioned about sex and his ascetic life...He said it was difficult..but then you gt used to it,which was refreshingly honest.

Baba Ramdev has good intentions and is mostly harmless ,he just needs to stop boasting a little and may be open his mind towards gays.

Sri Sri ravishankar...I think his organization is a little mercenary, but there message seemed okay and Sudarshan kriya is good and I wasreally happy for the 6 days may be even after //I took the course.
While..I was in college,I was experimenting with things so I went to one of his discourses..it was summer, there must have been 50000 people,it was dusty an generally quiet uncomfortable.
Sri Sri came and he managed o make he crowd happy and peaceful.
That according to me is an achievement,I don't know if he is spiritual or just has a great personality and or can easily charm people.

It may interest you to know,I found the sudarshan Kriya technique in one of Osho's books.
so Osho was not just talking abou sex😉

I don't know how many of these spiritual leaders are duping people, but if some good comes of it I am ok with it.
They aren't that different from our politicians are they.

U know, i tried attending an "Art of Living" class, and they made me do this weird aasan in Yoga...I have a severe (Thats still an underestimation of it) vertigo problem, and that was the end of it...I haven't stepped in close proximity of a Meditation Centre since then

@Sri Sri, he came to my coll once, and I think he has a smiling face and charming personality that ppl tend to be happy when he's arnd...It's not just with him, if u r in the company of someone who's always smiling..u tend to feel more content and happy😃 Well, all the 6hrs he spent in our coll, he was just dancing continuously and singing...

I seriously haven't read abt Osho and Dalai Lama and neither do I plan to do it...I fall prey to these ppl who try to make me follow somebody and fail horribly everytime I say "No, Thank you!"

Parents should set an example to their children.
These politicians corrupted life style is spoiling their children.
