Nice dedication for SAJAN. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH X 1000.
Ania, how have you been? I haven't seen you around on here much which is probably a good thing for you as you're getting work done, and I am not. LOL.
Shabz, you have to meet the ARDIS one day. She truly revolutionized IF and even has her own news channel.

LMFAO LMFAO, KANHA?! If there's anything I've learned, its that Kanha likes to create obstacles for his followers. Ya sure you want to chant his name? LMFAO! My sister has H1N1, and I heard that you're more prone to be infected if you've already had your flu shot!

Shabz, Ardis was here last night :)

I posted this in the other CC. Will post it here as well:

Why does popularity ultimately lead to the demise of so many things in one way or the other??😳 Sad truth of life it seems.

I guess after the smashing success of 'Remix', Star One decided to focus and target the youth audiences, seeing how other channels-- Zee, Sony, et al, seem to be infested with saas bahu dramas. I guess their definition of the 'youth audiences' doesn't venture outside the narrow radius of 'underaged, love deprived or teenage girls'. Why even put an effort to formulate a logical plot, with a storyline, when the mind numbingly stupid 'youths' won't understand?! Note, that's the chanel's logic, not mine, although I do agree to it to some extent. What do you think the morbid teenage girls would rather watch? A compelling story with logical characters, or Mayank massaging his tail malish wali body, whilst romancing with Nupur?!? The streaming pile of horseshit that Star One is churning out, is EXACTLY what the masses want to see.

@ Ania, I was saying let's LB to the efinal episode of KMH and laugh our asses off.

Lol no. Bandini always did better than KMH. I don't really know much about how it ended, but I'm sure it was lame.
Sure, let's LB. But should we wait for more members?
No problem about the video =)

Ania, we'll attract stalker babes regardless of anything we do, LOL!

Ok, if we're all up for live blogging, than perhaps we could wait for a few more members? Im' going to go study for an hour and come back. Does that work for everyone?

Shabz, have you got the link to the Sajan topic?

Soha, the Channel really does assume that the entire youth of India is only into Sapnon ka Rajkumars and winks and whatnot. And here I thought that Indians were the smartest among all and to be honest I am an insect among them. The vast amount of knowledge that their brain has is beyond my understanding, so I always make sure to grab the spot next to an Indian in class. 😆

Now to the point, the channel is coming up with cheaper than fairy tales sort of ideas to maybe relieve the stress of students that go through the routine - like school and studies. At the end of the day, when they turn on their TV at night after a long day of work, they probably smile while gazing upon Mayanks hanging belly and Nupu'sr fluttering her eyes.

I am speculating.

But of course we have to keep in mind that the Production Houses from Star One are not even high school passed adults, so they can only think that far. With technology exceeding and inputs varying as well, I am sure the idea of 'youth' has transformed from fairy world to realism. I don't even mind them portraying maggots with cheese sort of love, but only if once in a while they showed students going through the stress they go through finals, or the peer pressure that exists around. I still was awed at how MJHT made comic out of the drug issue and disregarded it completely. What else...Oh and I would love to attend tournaments where they make me act out 'I love you' or guess a SRK film.

But the bigger question is why are the aunties so attached to the show? That defeats the whole purpose.

Zainab, I understand that some people look for these shows as a vessel of entertainment, but why does entertainment have to amount to illogical characters, no storylines, and downright stupidity?! Can a show not be both great, thought provoking, intellectually stimulating, AND entertaining? Why do the two have to be mutually exhaustive? Why does it have to be one or the other?

I mean, we all want stressbusters at the end of the day, but does that only amount to stupidity and characters gawking at each other's lips, trying to get a taste of their favorite mithaai? We had shows like Hum Paanch, which was both great in it's writing aspect, witty, humorous, AND entertaining. Do you know how successful the show was? IT's been ages since it was pulled off air, but it's still remembered amongst its foes and it's ardent fans.

In this sense, Remix was a very successful show, and a great one too, because it actually focused on peer pressure endured in college, the cliques, the relationships, the heartbreaks, and of course, the drama. MJHT had such an amazing opportunity to connect to the youths and sympathize with their situation. College is a stressful time, an no doubt, a pivotal point in everyone's lives. Why make a mockery out of it? Why depict it as a fairy tale, where 'students' never go to class, and the only time they do, it is to sit there and dream about their 'scumbug from smirkland'?!? The creatives had a ripe opportunity to display the high school rivalries, the friendships, the stress endured by keeping on top of studies, the cliques, the relationships, and the heartbreaks, but instead, they decided to depict it as a hyper-real fantasy, where the jock lands the hot chick, and life seems so hunky dory.
