No man or beast can have those chicks, but he does.

I watched it a few years ago so I don't feel comfortable talking about it, but I remember liking it.

the trip was good, we were going to come back today but we heard about the storm warnings so we packed up and rushed back right after midnight last night!... when we were driving back, the area around red deer was CRAZY! it was raining and lightning LIKE NO TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the lightening looked SO big and orange, something i have never seen before! the whole sky would light up as if its daytime!!!! we were on highway 2 where the speed is usually 120 kms but everyone was driving at 70! 🤣
AHAHA we should take her to banff and push her off a mountain.. how does that sound? 😆 im so eval!

Dude, the weather has been so awful here. Two o fmy friends who live on the outskirts of Calgary said there was a tornado here last night, and I believe it. The wind was SO bad, that you thought someone could have been blown away. And two seconds later, sheer thunderstorm erupts, and the whole sky lights up. AND THEN THE WORLD FAMOUS GRAPEFRUIT SIZED HAIL! 😲

Soha, you covered it all. And I read that post when you posted it in the BW section. We agree most of the time, just not when it comes to books. By the way, I think we will both be dead by the time you decide to watch the An Education trailer and tell me your thought.

By the way, here is a post I wrote in Zainab's great topic about whether 90s films should come back or not. More people should have written there.

Zainab and Kanika, you both have brought up so many good points, that I don't know if I can really add much more. And I also "liked" both of your posts, but the button seems to not be functioning at the moment.

For me the 90s was when I was growing up, but it was also the point of time where I lost interest in Bollywood. The family melodrama overload combined with worshipping the needs of the NRI market really drew me away. And I remember sitting in a movie theater in India and watching two different movies a few days after another where the couple goes to Switzerland and that being stated in the movie. It was kind of unnerving in a way.

But yes for all of the boring and stereotypical love stories where the parents blessings' must be attained, there were a few gems like Zakhm and Andaz Apna Apna, as Kanika mentioned. One of my personal favorites is Kabhi Haa Kabhi Naa where SRK loses out on the the girl. It is a sad ending, but I think it really left a mark on the audience too. Love does not necessarily equal happiness; there can be heartbreak.

And yes, it was the decade of the 3 Khans, but I guess SRK was the one, who thrived the most. 80s was the decade of dishoom dishoom, but I think it was also the decade of many other films like Chasme Buddoor (David Dhawan remake news makes me wanna puke), Lamhe, etc. So it wasn't all bad, but I do feel like the 90s was a bit suffocating for me because there were little options. So I think I welcomed the 2000s because it brought out more options, darker films and different themes began to be explored. There were more horror films and gangster films, etc. Yes, I guess a family could not always watch a film together like it seemed to be in the 90s. But really should they always, sometimes you cannot just watch a film with children. Looking at you families, who took your small children, to see KANK at my local movie theater
.👎🏼

Nimmi, this was a great post, and I agree wholeheartedly. Where was this thread (qm). I do agree, 90's wasn't the best decade for films. The folks from the MJHT CC call it the 'ghaati films'decade. 😆 I do admire Bollywood attempting darker, more unconventional stories, but it doesn't change the fact that they are all still Hollywood rip-offs. I hope we get to see more artsy, indie sort of stuff.

HAH AHA AHA AHA!
Yesterday night at 1:00 am or 2:00 am, I was writing up jokes for the awards ceremony and my younger brother happened to be in my room. He is usually suspicious about me since you know I am on the computer 12 hours a days. So ya he keeps his evil eye on me just to tell on me. So anywhoo, nobody at my house knows that I am on 'IF' rather than doing normal stuff on the net. Well my brother and my sister kind of know about IF, but not that much.
So as I was writing up jokes and sentences for myself and Soha, my brother goes, 'Zainab, I am worried about you. What do you do? Are you OK? Who is Soha? So you both like own a website? Do you own IF or something? Why are you writing up stuff like Rakhee, chaloo, kamini, bindaas...?
I HAD NO ANSWER!
First thing I did was change the file's name which I was working on to 'School Work' just so that he thinks it's school work. Who am I kidding?! The kid is my brother and he is just as eval as me. So ya, from now on I will have to beware of him!
OHHH and Junkies is a whole another story.......
Yesterday, I left MSN on without exiting and he happened to be on there. When I come back, he is like 'Who is Fanz?' I am like 'A friend from school.' He is like 'No she is not. Why would you talk to her about Rakhee?'
DAYUMMNN THE KID IS SMART!
