i think the circumstances made them get intimate, because Rahul desperately wanted muski to know that he wont leave now, and Muski was totally reluctant to let go this time because she didnt want to face a heartbreak.. thats rahul lost his senses and got close to her because that, to him, only seemed to be the way to let her know that he would be there!
