FLASHBACK~~~
Sharon Rai Prakash had come to this school 2 years ago. She heard a lot about St. Louis and how people achieve their dreams at that college. When she had enrolled, she had a strange encounter with the college heartthrob, Swayam Shikhawat. She was standing in the canteen and Swayam had been pushed into her and she had almost slipped. Swayam had thankfully caught her and it was during that time that Sharon had realized.
She couldn't do anything but stare at his perfection. His face held a secret to which no one had the key. The innocence had attracted Sharon towards him. She knew by what she felt that he was the perfect human being ever. "Sorry," he said with his gentle voice. Sharon couldn't stop staring into his perfect brown eyes. She was lost in him. He gently brought her to her feet and snapped at her face. Sharon broke her gaze and didn't know what to do. All she said was "thank you." Swayam turned to his friends and walked out, giggling.
A year later, Swayam and Sharon had gotten closer. Through all their awkward encounters, they hadn't realized what they felt for each other. Sharon has been in St. Louis for 2 years now...
REALITY~~~
Sharon drove to college in her silver honda and got out in the most beautiful outfit. By now, she was one of the most popular girls in college, alongside Swayam. They were best friends, as they called it. To them it was nothing more. She stepped out in her black heels and red backless dress. She held a black clutch in her hand. All the guys had stared at her as she walked towards the basketball field, where Swayam was waiting for her. They embraced in a tight hug. Swayam stepped back to observe his best friend.
"Looking gorgeous as always!" They both chuckled and walked into the college. They looked perfect together. Swayam had on a black button up shirt with blue skinny jeans and black converse. He was looking stunning and as always, hot. To most in the college, they were the perfect pair, but they never believed it. The bell had rang and it was time for class. "Hey Sharon, after class, meet me in the garden. We can have lunch together." Sharon nodded and headed towards her classroom.
Class was over quick, as Sharon was eager to have another lunch with her best friend. She headed out to the garden and saw something she never would see. There was a bottle of champagne and the lights were perfect. She smiled, her pearly white teeth shining from her red lipstick. Swayam pulled out a chair for her to sit and she walked over to be seated. Swayam sat down himself.
Swayam gazed around. "So? Like it?"
"Of course I do Swayam! But why all this?"
"I just wanted to show you the value you hold in my life. You are very important to me. You understand me the most Sharon." Sharon gave a smile. "Champagne?"
"Sure. I'd love to." Swayam popped open the champagne bottle and the fizz squirted out. They both gave a relaxing smile to each other. The song played in the background and added a soft feeling in the enviornment. They drank their champagnes and Swayam giggled. "What happened Swayam?"
He shook his head. "Remember the first time we met? In the canteen? My friend and I were arguing and he pushed me onto you and you fell in my arms." They both laughed. "But, Sharon, I really treasure those moments."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that if that hadn't happened, we wouldn't be where we are now. Everything happens for a reason. Do you believe that?"
"Yes Swayam. I believe everything happens for a reason."
"Why do you think we became friends? I mean don't take me wrong but do you ever wonder what the reason behind friendship, I mean, close friendship is?" Sharon didn't know what to say. "Forget it. You hungry?"
"What's there for lunch?" Swayam opened up the plates to reveal spaghetti, which was handmade. "This is so nice Swayam. You are the best!" Swayam brought a smile to his face. They ate and talked about all the funny moments they had. Just as they were done eating, the song 'Tum Hi Ho' from Aashiqui 2 started to play. It was Swayam's favorite song.
He got up and brought himself to Sharon. He put out his hand and said "May I have this dance?" Sharon chuckled and reached for his hand. She got up and they made their way to the middle.
Swayam put his hand on Sharon's back, which was bare due to her dress, and she gasped. His touch was special. It made her quiver. She felt something she never felt before. Swayam pulled his hand away. "Oh, sorry."
"No, don't be. I think it's just because I haven't slow danced in a while." He put his hand back on her bare skin. They danced as two friends, singing and laughing with each other for some time. Then they stopped. Sharon and Swayam both stepped closer to each other. Swayam slid his hand from Sharon's back to wrap around her waist. She closed her eyes for a moment of realization. She opened them and felt exactly what she felt the first day she saw him.
She saw the same innocence in him, the same perfection. Swayam opened his mouth to speak. "Sharon?" He whispered in her ear. "I love you." These three words were words that Sharon's heart had longed to hear but her mind was confused. She didn't know what was going on. Her heart felt it was right but her mind felt it was wrong.
"Huh?"
Swayam pulled away. "Yes Sharon." His tone was still very low and soft. "Sharon I have realized that you are the one for me. You are beautiful, both outside and mainly inside. I love everything about you; your eyes, your smile, your laugh, the way you talk to me. Everything Sharon." Sharon felt herself blush but she turned away. "I love you Sharon. I realized today actually, during this whole lunch. I couldn't stop staring at your perfection." When Sharon didn't say anything Swayam turned around but saw only her back. He walked close to her, so close that their bodies could be touching. "I'm sorry, Sharon. I know it's not right. I don't know what got into me." Swayam stopped and turned to walk away.
Sharon turned and grabbed his wrist to stop him from walking away. "Swayam, you got a chance to say what you wanted now my turn." Swayam stared i to her eyes and neither looked away. "Something about you struck me that day. The day we met. I didn't know what it was. I don't know exactly what I am feeling right now Swayam. But I know that it is an attraction towards you. I don't know what to say." Swayam still held his gaze but this time, his eyes showed that he was sad. Sharon walked close to him and intertwined her fingers with his. "I think I love you too, but just promise me Swayam, that if I give myself to you, no matter what happens, you will never leave my side." Swayam smiled.
"I promise Sharon!" He put his unoccupied hand on her cheek and caressed it with his thumb. "I promise."
"And promise me, that you will only be mine."
Swayam looked into her eyes. He grabbed Sharon's waist and pulled her closer until their skins were touching. Swayam whispered "I promise." He leaned in and gently kissed Sharon's lips.
