Hey Ankita. I will just reply for the mods right now till they can have a look at this thread. It's a good thought that you want to open a writing index for your readers. But it can be opened in Fan Fiction forum and you can pm the link to your readers. We already have an FF gallery here which we try to keep updated every week. Most of all the links are added there with the writers name. So if a particular member is looking for a piece of work from you, it won't be hard to go to FF gallery and scroll down till your userID comes.
About bringing in IPKKND and EHMMBH forum... I would just say this is neither IPKKND forum nor EHMMBH. So no point in comparing the way these three forum's operate. All three forums operate differently. Those forums are very active and like you said, there are many writers there that you cannot count. Thus, keeping the FF gallery edited every day/week wouldn't be possible. Here, the case is different. We've not yet reached the stage where the pieces of work are uncountable that we cannot keep a track of it in one place. Let those forums be operated the way the moderators there moderate it.
The ranks of actors and index isn't connected in any way as far as I can think. Those IDs comment on the profile, which is IF problem. Not D3 moderator's problem. And just to inform, when previous index's by other members were posted, before closing them, a note on them (mods) was made. So you cannot say that no prior warning was given. I'm not aware if you were PMed or not. But it has been clear on the forum that links are to be posted in FF gallery. Even if a warning was given, the mods would have closed to topic with a warning posted. Either way, warning given or not, topic would be closed...
Whether anyone checks the FF gallery or not isn't something we can do about. If you're concerned about members seeing your work, then as I mentioned above, they can open the FF gallery link and scroll down to your name. You said you have posted the links there as well correct? Then I can guarantee that those links have been added to the first page. When the FF gallery is updated on weekly basis and such, what is the need for an index..?
After the new rule about FFs have been made, the index's have been closed if seen in the front pages of the forum. If you're talking about some index that hasn't been closed, then it is probably because it has been inactive and we haven't seen it in the front pages. Thus, it isn't just your's that was closed. The intention wasn't to insult you or anyone else. Rules are rules and they have been made keeping the way this forum and it's members in mind.
You are a writer just like I am. On a personal note, I respect you point of view but rules need to be followed. You are free to open an index in the FF board. We wouldn't want you to stop writing your works because of a problem like this.
We are not biased towards anything or anyone. Nor do we like to close down every thread we see just to get a thrill out of it. If a rule was broken, then the topic is bound to be closed. I have said all I can say of as far as my knowledge goes. I'm sure Ishan and Juleka di will respond here once they see the topic.
Ps: No replies to the members replies have been made here. I just wanted to give TM her reply. Rest is up to my higher ups.
Edit: Another thing I would mention... If you had a problem, you could have easily pm-ed the mods and talk about the problem rather than posting a topic about it.
Khushi.
