Lost to the King
Chapter 1
It was one of those propitious day where in the whole Mauryan Empire was celebrating the birthday of Chandragupt who turned twenty one.
King Prajapat invited all the kings from faraway places to bestow their sanctifications. The whole palace was filled with decorations that were never seen before.
All the family members' whole heartedly came over to celebrate this day with great pomp. King Prajapat's brothers, cousins, sisters, their families and each member of the family was present to give their consecrations to the Prince...
People of the kingdom commended their prince who always conferred his sheer respect and care for its people.
Entire palace was adorned with different types of flowers, ubiquitously the designs of rangoli was made exquisitely on the paths along the gate towards the entrance of the palace that made the whole palace look more vibrant.
People wore new clothes and were ready to leave their houses to enjoy the big feast at the palace. Children, women and old ladies were seated in the front so they can get served first.
Every person was served with lavish food that had ten different items on the plate. People enjoyed and gave blessings...
On the entrance of the huge gates a stage was set up for the King and its ministers to be seated for the magnificent festivity for the Prince.
Everyone seated nicely around the huge stage that was nicely decorated with beautiful carpets all over and in the centre of the stage a havan kund was lit up the holy fire. Head Priest with other priests started the rituals...
The moment Chandragupt came to the stage, people started praising him. He raised his one hand to address his people then walked towards the holy fire. He sat on the small seat decorated with a red velvet cloth around the holy fire for the rituals.
No doubt every princess who came in the gala was gazing at the prince, but he was least bothered about their looks.
Chandragupt performed all the sacraments as directed by the head priest who seated along with other priests chanting the holy mantras for Prince's long life...one by one all the ingredients were offered into the holy fire.
After the ritual ceremony he was to made sit on the weight scale, the other scale had big plates of jewellery, clothes and expensive gifts.
Queen Kalavati along with ten maidens came towards the havan kund to bless her Son with all her love "May you win every battle in your life."
She said while putting the red vermillion dot on his forehead "I bless you to succeed forever. That you will never face any failures in life"
She beamed and asked the girls to keep all the plates on the weight scale... the weight scale was measured according to the Prince's weight and all the gifts subsequently were distributed among the people of the kingdom...
King Prajapat and all the ministers in the courtyard blessed the Prince...
Priest asked the prince to have bath with the holy water after which all his pains and sufferings will flow away.
Chandragupt took the big golden pot with both hands and bowed in front of the priests.
"We all bless you with happiness and long life" they all put their hands on his head.

After a very long day full of merriments, ceremonies and donations finally Chandragupt stood up and walked towards his room.
He was followed by his group of four friends Bhim, Devrath, Arya and Pradyum.
He held the pot neatly in his one hand, dressed with beautiful ornaments around his neck, with curly hair falling around the crown he walked gracefully towards the huge hallway...
"You must be tired Chandragupt" Bhim took out the sweets from the box that was offered during the ceremony and one by one started eating the round sugary balls.
Chandragupt raised his right eyebrow and earnestly looked at his friend who seemed all lost in the sweets "Chandragupt never gets tired just by sitting" he stopped for a while staring at him then shook his head and started walking again...
"May be Bhim gets tired while eating" Arya quoted looking at Bhim's mouth full of sweets.
All the friends laughed
While they were passing the hallway numerous servants working in the palace bowed as the Prince passed by them...
The moment he entered the huge room, his eyes scanned around the prettily decked room that looked changed from its usual look.
The room was large. A huge bed in the centre, with chairs on the side, large curtains on all sides and a huge window that has a little balcony to stand out... the only thing that was visible from the window was the huge forest...
"Chandra, you get ready. We will meet you shortly" Devrath kept all the things of the ceremony on the side... then smiled at his friend
Chandragupta nodded at his friends and walked towards the other side of the room that had a pool of water, the pool was decorated with flowers and scents everywhere. He took off his clothes and landed in the pool...
The moment he closed his eyes he saw her attractive eyes, her beautiful face and her engrossing lips that always make him fall for her.
He immediately opened his eyes "I am waiting for the night so I can hold you in my arms and kiss you in the moonlight" he whispered picking up a small lotus flower from the pool.
