What I don’t understand about TRPs

Can someone who understands how TRPs work explain this to me

So as wel know, CJL’s TRP has dropped from 1.5 to 1.2. But why is this TRP not considered enough? Shows like KKB and KB have been going on for ages and their TRP is also in between this range.

Also why do channels never look at online TRPs? Sony tv shows have low TRPs but have insane amounts of views online. Shows like KRPKAB or IPZN are some of the best romance shows in my opinion which were aired on Sony tv. People like me, who don’t live in India or don’t have indian channels on their tv usually watch indian content online. So why is this something that gets neglected?

Shows like CJL have alot of viewers on yt or jiocinema too. The episodes get 100.000+ views in a few houres. While top trp shows like Shiv shakti or parineeti don’t get that many views online.

Same goes for Zee tv shows like Bhagya Lakshmi. TRPs of that show is high. But barely anyone watches the show online and all the new promos/precaps get negative comments because the villain never gets exposed. So who’s watching that show?? Why does it get good TRP??

Could it be that online TRP comes from younger viewers/audience? So shows that actually have a decent storyline like CJL have more online viewers? And regressive shows like BL are being watched by the older generation? Or am I wrong?

Well I too don't understand why these shows are going for years and years /leaps /generations . I really don't know. The only serial I watched for years is Balika Vadhu till Pratyusha was there as Anandi.

Most of the shows are either remakes of some successful regional shows or same storylines with generation change.

People like two woman are fighting for one man .

Colours had/has plenty of them I can name at least 10 serials that has same/similar plots.

Again shows like Katha Ankahee, barsatein,KRPKAB , CLJ doesn't get much TRPs.

Maybe people are used to treat FL as doormats.

It makes no sense to me because back in the day this wasn’t the case. QH season 1 introduced us to a character like Zoya, which is one of the most open minded and best female characters we’ve ever gotten in indian television. And season 1 aired more than 10 years ago. How are today’s shows more regressive than 10 years ago?? And how are they getting good TRPs? I’ll never understand it. I genuinely feel like the bhagya’s and YRKKH are like poison to our society. Sasural jaise bhi treat kare, as women u have to tolerate it

Qubool hai was good till KSG was there.

I liked zoya's fearless character.

Even Dilshad single-handedly raised Asad and nazma.

You are right regressive shows are more successful now.

Mujhe bhi ithna bahi patha but i feel online is not considered because channel can ask their employees to manipulate it.and each channel has their own app so it's not reliable.

But offline trp the house hold should have some device installed from barc.and barc calculates externally. So less chances of manipulations. But i feel for cjl jio cinema main kaafi response hai as i see many adds pops up when i was. If channel gets revenue from that they should be happy too.

Zee, Colors, Star Plus are the 3 main big channels competing against each other in this slot. Each channel wants to be the slot leader.

Now in the slot where Colors airs CJL, SP airs YRKKH which gets around 1.6 and Zee airs Kumkum Bhagya which also gets around 1.5, so now Colors is under pressure to at least attain the same amount of TRPs if not to beat it.
