It maybe because of the unnecessary scenes between Ashoka and Kaurwaki. The CV's really need to focus on the main plot which is Ashoka's struggle and ascension to the throne. The romance portion needs to be kept out.

The politics and conspiracies within the family are part of the main plot so I'm pretty sure it's the romance that brought the TRP's down. The romance is not needed at all. They have wasted a lot of episodes showing romance which is not good.
