Trust was the catch word in the whole of yesterday's episode. Ashok and Acharya Devrath go to meet the village head to seek help. But he is terribly scared by now and does not want to help the rebels anymore. He informs them that all their wealth is being taken in the form of tax so that they will not be able to help them anymore. Ashok just asks one question, "It's good that you want to help us and also helped us in the initial stages of the rebellion. But can't you trust and believe us enough to not crack under pressure and sustain your trust even in the face of difficulties.?"

Ashok promises the head that they will give a fitting reply to Keechak when he sends his senapathi Bhairav for collecting more taxes the next morning. There is a short scene between Ashok and the little boy where he is trying to find Karuwaki but not doing something very foolhardy like barging single handedly into Keechak's palace in search of her. After that there is a very poignant scene where Ashok is talking alternatively to Karuwaki and the small statue of Buddha she gave him. He just wants her to be safe and not do anything impulsive in her anger. He prays to Buddha to keep her safe and sound wherever she is.

She is no more near him but he derives strength even from her memories and the gifts she gave him. He might not actually be in love with her but he cares for her and her presence seems to give him stability and mental balance to face any situation. Just compare this Ashok with the Ashok we saw when both of them enter the underground passage where her answer, " I trust you implicitly or else I would not have come so far" gives him the courage to move even the mountains.

He now has the trust of Acharya Devrath and the people if Takshasila but he has lost her trust. Whether we as viewers prefer to see it or not, her trust is his strength and her mistrust of him is his weakness. Then comes the major highlight of the episode where Ashok beats Bhairav and his men black and blue and brands him right on his forehead giving a fitting reply to Keechak who had carved a message for the rebels on back of the small boy. Reply in the language in which his enemy understands. Fear in reply for fear. Now none of Keechak's men will dare to terrorize the villagers.

On the other hand, we find Karuwaki convincing her reluctant father that they can actually escape from Keechak's palace and asking him to trust her and give her hope just a chance. It is another thing that they get caught by Nayak. I found her plan foolhardy in many places but let me not discuss all that here. Even when they are caught, she does not loose her courage and gives a very cutting reply to Nayak on his allegiance to the wrong person.

She puts a brave front before Keechak telling that Kalingas are not afraid of death. They would rather embrace it rather than help him. Then enters Rakshas who tries to do some manipulation with words but father and daughter don't seem very covinced. Bhairav plonks in at this point telling how the whole population had turned against them. A nice reality check to Keechak that his days are numbered.

In the precap, Karuwaki cracks under the pressure and agrees to help Keechak and Rakshas. I still don't feel she will actually help them. She is doing this just to buy some time and save her father. Ashok will surely understand her situation and help her
PS: Mine is a neutral post. I choose to see the story as it is given to us. Everyone is entitled to have their own preferences and I appreciate it. I would love discussion to my posts rather than single word Amazing and loved it posts.

comes in handy when one hasnt watched it.

I think Kaurwaki is not just giving up to the pressure, its the way Rakshas has tried to convience her by saying that they have a common goal and that is-Mauryas

Kaurwaki has developed all hatred for ashok and I think it will not go until its her own father who can throw light on the truth

Superb analysis and beautifully penned down..i m very bad in doing such analysis ...i agree with you in many points...ashok hasn't realized his love for kaurwaki till now...i remember once he said"main tumhari suraksha k liye khud ko uttardayi manne lga hoon"..he cares for her and has turned his this weakness into the strength..he is not distracted ...about kaurwaki accepting the proposal i think she will accept but..may be after listening to bhairav words yesterday she kinda realizes that ashok being a maurya is doing so much for the people and eventually don't betray him..

That's sad. Do catch up with the episode sometime. Just watch it for Ashok who beats that Senapathi Bhairav and the branding on the forehead was the cherry on the cake for me.

Ashok has to understand given the fact that he is the antaryami, mahan self-sacrificing hero who also has the ability to do even face reading and mind reading when it comes to Karuwaki. So no worries for Karuwaki! Why fear when Ashok is here!

Karuwaki at time seems going overboard with her hatred for Maurya vanshis. But watching the precap, I felt it was more Karuwaki cracking due to the torture heaped on her father. If she and her father had been killed in one stroke, she wouldn't have worried about it. Even the toughest of the tough do not withstand third degree torture and she is a soft hearted and delicate girl. But I agree with the fact that her father has to explain that she is now being highly prejudiced against and finding fault with Ashok for all the wrong reasons. She cries wolf at everything he does without analyzing things from his point of view.
