TOI: Bling doesnt interest me-Shrenu

This petite beauty has made her mark on television with her signature smile. While her pearlies have wooed the audience, Shrenu nonetheless is working towards refining her acting skills.

Confesses the actor that even now, there is this jittery feeling while facing the camera. "Taking from Gulaal to Havan and now to Byah Hamari Bahoo Ka, I still feel the butterflies in my stomach each time when I face the camera," says Shrenu who feels, she has matured over the years post her stint in showsGulaal and Havan. "I was so immature when I did Gulaal. Now I try to get into the skin of the character. I am living my character to the maximum and very excited about working with Hats Off Productions. This role is like a dream come true for me. I am very happy to have taken the responsibility of carrying the show on my shoulders," says Shrenu.

Shrenu, who hails from a traditional Gujarati family in Vadodara, feels she is more comfortable in her current show because of the traditional and cultural similarities that the storyline has. "Since the story revolves round a Gujarati household from Vadodara, I feel at home during the shots and while on the sets. Gaurav (Khanna, her co-star in the show) is a good guy. He's experienced and he keeps me at ease while shooting. We have fun off the screen too, which gets reflected in the great screen chemistry when we share," says the actor.

Unlike her onscreen character Rajnibala, Shrenu believes in sticking to minimalistic and contemporary wardrobe. "I suffer from identity crisis so many times these days," says the actor laughing. "Many people don't even recognize me when they come across me in a de-glam and normal look. Once I am out of the costumes and character get up, I look entirely different. I keep it simple. Bling doesn't interest me," says Shrenu.
