This has been a season of superheroes, with the Batman flick The Dark Knight about to release, and Hancock getting us all excited. It has been reported that Randeep Hooda is set to star in the Indian version of Hancock, while Abhishek Bachchan's sci-superhero flick Drona to readying for release. With so much action in the air, it is perhaps the right time to visualize some of our leading stars in the garb of the most popular superheroes of all times. Our imaging artist Priti Shah tried some photoshop wizardry to give you an idea of what the stars would really look like, in their masks, catsuits and capes.
Who: Magneto in X-Men. He's intelligent, can manipulate metal and is like a human magnet. He is all super intelligent, with some shades of gray making him very human.
The actor: Amitabh Bachchan to play the magnetic, angry and powerful Magneto.
Why: Sir Ian McKellen, who played Magneto is widely regarded as a powerful actor. And we can think of none other than Amitabh Bachchan to take him on. With his experience and knowledge, we know Big B can equal this British actor who gained popularity in Shakespearean theatre.
The only difference between the two – Big B is yet to be knighted by the queen!
Who: Catwoman. A simpleton, who never ever gets noticed, discovers her flexibility and feline reflexes after an assault. Catwoman, to date is one of the most coveted super women and has been an object of male fantasy the world over. But be warned, rub her the wrong way and she'll scratch your eyes out.
The actress: Our first choice would have been Kareena Kapoor especially after rumours of her picking cat fights with her co-stars. But after much speculation, we decided that Bipasha Basu suited the role better.
Why: Somehow, Bipasha exudes this feline grace and the charm that suits the character through and through. The original Catwoman was played by Michael Pfeiffer but the dusky beauty, Halle Berry redefined the character in the remake. No one but our beautiful Bips can match Berry's charm, grace and skill as Catwoman. Plus, can't you simply imagine her dressed in a black cat suit, carrying a whip and bearing her claws at the first sign of threat?Who: Ironman. A super rich industrialist and genius inventor of weapons finds himself in a sensitive spot when terrorists trap him in Afghanistan. Using his wit he manages to build himself an iron suit which helps him escape their lair. He subsequently builds himself a refined version of the iron suit and sets out to fight terrorism around the world.
The actor: Shah Rukh Khan as Tony Stark aka Iron Man.Why: Like Stark, SRK has a quick wit and the charm suited to Ironman through and through. With his charm and a taste for the finer things in life, one can totally picture this superstar enacting the millionaire playboy who designs his own toys
Who: Poison Ivy. Batman, Superman and countless strong willed individuals have fallen prey to her love potions. Beautiful and irresistible, this eco-villainess has all of mankind intrigued.
The actress: Aishwarya Raito play the role of Poison Ivy.
Why: We've seen her play the good girl, the good wife, the good ghost and now it's about time we finally see her play an outrageously evil character. To begin with, if Uma Thurman did a good job, we know that that Ash can do a brilliant job!
Who: Spider-Man. Bitten by a mutant spider, nerdy Peter Parker suddenly finds himself with super-human powers. Being the nice guy that he is, he takes it upon himself to save the world from crime, bad guys and destruction. But deep down inside he's just a boy, torn between his responsibilities and the redhead he's in love with.
The actor: Ranbir Kapoor as Spider-Man.
Why: Simple - after seeing him prance around in a blue towel, one can imagine his lean, boy-next-door frame, swinging from tall concrete towers, in a tight red and blue suit. Plus, we truly feel that a homely boy like Ranbir will relate to Spider-Man and Peter Parker better than any other B'wood hero.
Who: One of the most lethal heroines of our times, Elektra's trademark weapon is the two-bladed sai. Ruthless with her foes, she is also one of the most intriguing super-heroines of our times. Plus, don't forget her steamy affair with a particular Daredevil with whom she shared a great chemistry.
The actress: Katrina Kaif as Elektra
Why: With her good looks and charm, it is hard not to imagine Kats as the super-heroine who kicks some serious butt. Swift and striking, Kats can give Jennifer Garner a run for her money any day.
Who: Wolverine. Lethal and unforgiving, this super-hero is known for his red hot temper and his ruthlessness in war. But that doesn't stop women all over the world swooning over this bad-boy's rugged good looks.
The actor: Hrithik Roshan as Wolverine
Why: Well, why not? He has the body, a ruggedly handsome face and he even has the skills to pull off the angry young man with a shady past. Yes, Krrish might be popular but as this X-Men character, Hrithik will get a lot more leeway to show off his assets and macho traits.Who: Storm of X-Men. She's a calm and genteel figure, but p*** her off and she'll kick up a storm
The actress: Kareena Kapoor
Why: Just imagining the feisty Kareena play the calm Storm is exciting enough to go watch this flick. And if opposites attract, the outspoken Kareena will have no difficulty portraying this super-heroine who may be quit, but has quite a few layers. Plus, the white hair is quite becoming on her, don't you think?
