What is up on IIFA?

The Green carpet is on fire with hot and happening celebrities. We are talking about The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, an awards ceremony that honours Bollywood films around the world since 2000. The 2008 edition of the IIFA Awards will take place from Bangkok Thailand and will be telecast on June, 29 at 8 pm on Star Plus.

Such a grand award function will not go without any gossipy masala stuff. So giving you a peek into the behind the scenes of IIFA…

IS TWINKLE SPYING AKKI AND KATRINA?

Looks like… Twinke Khanna made a sudden entry on the finale day of the event. Was it to check on her husband since Katrina and Akshay were performing together and there was no sign of Salman around? She clung to Akshay throughout and made sure he never left her side even for a few moments or even attend his calls. A source says that Katrina was trying to call up Akshaye frantically before the performance but Akshay didn't pick up the phone. Was it because Twinkle was sitting with him? What do the stars have to say on this?

And is it because of Twinkle's a sudden entry? If that is what you guess then it may be wrong because something else didn't seem to please her… Here goes the story of what actually happened… At the award function, the crowd was in splits as Boman & Riteish- the funny guys made fun of almost everything and everyone under the sun and become the reason for celebs grumbling under their breath. The two actors were hosting the show and did some really hilarious spoofs on some of the latest popular Bollywood films. Their gag in which they showed their own versions of the best film nominations like Partner, Jab We Met etc was really funny and had the entire audience in splits. But there were few who didn't seem so happy with these guys making fun of their films like Katrina was! Nevertheless Bollywood's biggest names didn't mind being made fun of, all in good humor.

On IIFA weekend there were many activities planned for the celebs. Of which one was, Priyanka-Harman who went together to SIAM Ocean Park to feed the sharks and play with pythons. And another was Dia Mirza who went to a tiger park to play with the cubs and helped give birth to a crocodile where she attended the egg breaking festival…
