Then why not lower the consent age to 12 after all age is nothing but a number, right

i understand veryuniquestyle, but at 12 she was a kid....as said many times before at 12 you fear a lot of things. even the fear of being accused of lying by your own parents is a possibility. you dont know what the outcomes of accusing him would be.

you fear lots of things at every age...fear doesn't pass with age, but it does change with age.

I agree probably at 12 she was a kid and maybe did not know what was happening or happened..but at 18 she wasn't a kid anymore...I think veryuniquestyle is trying to say that lots of kids are actually more mature than their age...just because one kid was afraid of things or had a certain mentality at a certain age does not mean every kid did! you need to look around and see how fast children are growing and how fast their mentality levels are increasing. 😊

mittijalebi you watched those little kids show where they had to take care of theirself without adults, they had to cook and make their own shelter and do adult jobs. I forgot the show's name but you can see how smart some kids can be, even way smarter and brave than adults some kids can be. They were way younger too

sure kids are growing fast and mentalities levels are increasing NOW, but this took place 25 years ago!!! and maybe she was one of those kids who was fearful. also, i was 18 once....and sure your an adult at 18, but when i look back now....i knew NOTHING then.

after getting married, having kids, getting an education having a job......you learn some real valuable life lessons. just turning 18 doesnt make you an adult.
