Priyanka Chopra's recent contract with Sunsilk has put the actress in esteemed company. The shampoo brand has not only taken on the ex-Ms World but also international pop singer Madonna as well as Marilyn Monroe as their new worldwide ambassadors says a source close to all the dealings.
International appeal
"Most of Priyanka's endorsements have been international brands which means she is dealing with the who's who. Her name is being circulated in the right circles and so when Sunsilk was on the lookout for an international face from India who could match Madonna and Marilyn they decided on Priyanka," says the source.
Working with Madge
With Madonna as the other face is there a possibility of an ad featuring the two of them? "It's too early to tell. We do know that PC will be the Indian face of the new range and Madonna will feature in the West. Right now all the attention is being put on launching them individually. In fact she will begin filming her first Sunsilk ad sometime next week," adds the source, "But an ad together with Madonna can't be ruled out just yet!"
Raking in the moolah
Although no official announcement has been made about the contract, the buzz suggests that the actress will be paid close to two crores. "Priyanka has been very careful in her choices. A lot of brands are after her to become their brand ambassador but Priyanka is making sure that she makes the right choices and doesn't take up everything that comes her way. The product's credibility, how it suits her, what she can bring to the table - she looks at all of that before she signs on the dotted line. And that is why the companies are ready to pay her what she wants!"
Currently the superstar endorses Lux, J Hamstead, Pepsi and Kinetic Scooty. Recently, she has also teamed up with Virgin Comics.
