Firing from borrowed cylinders

< content=11/17/2007 name=date>
The Akshay Kumar scene in Om Shanti Om has been copied, cut to cut, from a Swedish film called Kopps

Mumbai Mirror Bureau

Om Shanti OM

KOPPS

Remember the 'Return of the Khiladi' sequence in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, where super cop Akshay Kumar fires from his crotch (with a gun, of course)? The stylised drama is not so original and has been blatantly copied from a Swedish film, Kopps.

So, Akshay Kumar earns no brownie points, which millions thought is a first-time from the so-called action hero. The scene is a mere copy of the film, Kopps, which revolves around three policemen of the sleepy town of Hogbotrask, who are set out to create their own criminals, as town authorities threaten to shut down their beloved police station.

Not only has Farah Khan received flak for showing veteran actor Manoj Kumar in poor light, she has also been accused of directly lifting elements from here and there, rehashing them and packaging them as Om Shanti Om.

The Akshay Kumar sequence has been copied not keeping the sensibilities of the Indian viewers. To most people, the scene has come across as distasteful and vulgar.

And WOW, like SLB is creative, he acts like he's creative. He stoled the whole story of Black from an old black and white american movie. Where he copied scene to scene in the whole movie that I was surprised. Because SLB always acts like he thinks of those stories and works hard being creative 😆 😆 😆

He's really creative in the pictures side of the movies.

Anyways, most new movies coming out are copied from another story book or another movie. So it's "bolly copy wood" these days 😆 😆

who was talking about slb here?? 😕 we were onli discussing this scene...😕 why bring him up??? itz ppl like u who cause all these arguments and stuff between saawariya and oso fans....there was NO reason to bring slb up here..

now that u have...lemme tell u...slb mentioned in the credits that this movie is based on the short story white nights....so everyone knew....u cant say he stole it...cuz he clearly mentioned it wasnt his own creative story...if u missed it...go see the begining credits again...as soon as the title Saawariya comes up, after that it says about white nights....

whereas farah...no mention at all...she tried to make it as if itz her OWN scene...
