Remember jab we met, Ranbir?

Ranbir Kapoor certainly needs to jog his memory. The young actor recently told a city newspaper that he has never met Rajkumar Hirani, the man behind the Munnabhai series. The actor was reported to have signed Hirani's Five Point Someone.

The man most surprised at the news was Hirani himself. He couldn't believe that Ranbir denied having met him before. He explains, "I have met Ranbir twice. I met him first at the premiere of Saawariya, and then later he had come to my office to meet me."

As for signing Ranbir for his film, Hirani clarifies, "My film needs an older actor because it shows two time spans - in college and seven years after that. Let me make this clear once and for all that I have not signed anybody yet for the film."

Ranbir seems to have learnt the ways of the industry too soon. He easily denied that he had met Hirani. "I think Ranbir is a fine actor. There was no awkwardness in his performance in Saawariya. He did many long scenes in one take. I am sure he will do well for himself," Hirani says.

Meanwhile, he is working on getting together the cast of Five Point Someone. "Munnabhai can wait," he says. "I will surely make Munnabhai Chale America but after Five Point Someone. I owe that to Sanjay Dutt. Three Munnabhais in a row would have been too much for me, too."

There are huge expectations from him. Does that bother him? "Not at all. You become nervous only when you haven't given enough time to a film. I'm not in a hurry. I will start shooting only after I'm very happy with my script. I don't have to make a film every year. I'm not in a race. Once you are sure of your script, chances of it going wrong are less. If it still goes wrong, I will know that I gave it my best shot and failed. I don't want to cheat myself."

Speaking about making a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions, he says, "Yes, Sanju has asked me to do a film for his production house. However, it is too early to speak about it as we have just spoken about the possibility of doing a film together."

hirani said he met him FIRST at the premier of saawariya...den again later on..

wen ranbir did that interview (im guessing with taran adarsh, cuz that is where he said he didnt meet hirani yet)....that interview was done b4 the premier of the movie...

so obv if their first meeting was at the premier...than ranbir was gonna say he never met him, cuz he shot for that interview b4 the premier happened..it was just aired later...😊

Is this the same movie where a while ago it was said that Saif, Abhishek and Hrithik would be acting?

yea..ranbir said he hasnt met with heerani yet, much before the premiere of saawariya at z muzic interview with taran adarsh😡..he said i havnt met him yet but indiafm came out with news of signing heerani's next film...he said he would be happy if it becomes the truth

In Five Point Someone, Ranbir will be perfect..He looks young and cute and I hear he is a fine actor too...😃

Ha! Ha! Megs, I have no clue about this news. I thought Ranbir is doing Hirani's film because Rishi Kapoor always wanted him to do a Hirani film and personally phoned and suggested it when Lage Raho released.

Guys....guys....guys...Ranbir is a star already, so do you think media will spare him? 😆

I agree with what Guru said...."Agar log tumhaare baare mein baat kar rahein hain.. to samjho tum tarakki par ho" ( If you are being talked about, it means you are happening, man!) 😉

That means SRK is the biggest star now because everyone is talking about him. 😛

You are right. Whatever sells makes news. So we are in for more scoops on Ranbir because he truely has become a huge star as expected.

SRK has long been the superstar that he is. For Rabir, the journey has just begun.
