At a party thrown by Anil Kapoor (Saawariya star Sonam's actor dad), special invitee Ranbir Kapoor looked depressed. This, onlookers said was the outcome of the negative reports his debut film garnered on the opening day.
Our source present at the party revealed to us, "On Diwali evening Anil Kapoor had hosted a party at their Juhu house for double celebrations – his daughter's debut and Diwali day. Ranbir was specially invited for the bash. But from the time he entered till he left, his face clearly reflected his sad mood."
"By that time the negative reports about the film had started pouring in from all sides. Though the film managed a great opening, with almost all the first three days ticket bookings full in advance, the feedback about the film was unanimous – maja nahi aaya boss! Ranbir had been very enthusiastic from the time the film neared its release date and was hoping the film would be loved by all and so also his work. Though everyone has been praising his acting skills very few have appreciated the film." the source continues.
"At the party he was seen greeting everyone with a smile and thanking all those who were congratulating him on his dream debut but his mind was elsewhere. He was extremely soft spoken that evening which was very unlike him. Also almost every second minute he would be seen talking on his mobile or sending and receiving text messages regarding Saawariya's response. With every response his face would drop further."
"Ranbir's gloominess began from the time he saw the not so excited faces of the guests invited for the film's premiere at IMAX Multiplex just 2 days prior to this party. Yet he had anxiously started making calls to all his friends and even industrywalas who had attended the premiere to know their personal response. He was still hoping that by Friday, when the film releases, if not them then the public at least would give not just him but the film a Big Thumbs Up! But the Kapoor khandaan scion was hugely disappointed," the source concludes.
