Konkona and Rani: Two Sides of the Same Coin?

Rani Mukherjee and Konkona Sen Sharma may just be different in name. If you thought, that their tower house performances is what bound them together, then, the following text will definitely make you sit and take notice, coz' both of them seem to be poles apart in many ways, but, when you rattle their characters till date, you will be surely in for a big surprise that….why spoil it now? Why don't you read it and see the surprise for yourself!

Rani: Mangal Pandey - The Rising

Rani played a prostitute in the film. Her character in the film was very garish and loud. She was a confident girl with a blunt temperament with a romantic incline. Rani proved her versatility in the role.

Konkona: Traffic Signal

Konkona acted as the call girl in this film. Her character kept switching from being a friendly girl to someone very curt. Her dialect spoke volumes about the kind of persona that she portrayed in this film, which was quite loud and clear. She presented the characteristics of both humility and ruthless in the film, with equal ease.

Rani: Black

Rani played a blind-deaf girl in this film. She brought the frustration and deprivation of her role on the surface. Her apprehensiveness, anxiety, and yearning to communicate, was presented very clearly merely with her body language. Her aggravations led her to be destructive, violent and give in to rages, which were rendered through her voice modulation.

Konkona: 15 Park Avenue

A physically and mentally challenged person's character performed by Konkona won her accolades by a dozen. She suffered from chronic schizophrenia and epilepsy. She essayed the fluctuations from being a normal person to an abnormal, and she instantly switched on and off in to her character with amazing ease. An amalgamation of the desires, language of an elderly and the mannerisms of a child; were portrayed flawlessly by Konkana.

Rani: Veer Zaara

Rani played a lawyer on a mission. She depicted the character of a woman with strong convictions and determinations. She showed the passion and energy to accomplish her goal. A strong-footed woman with a clear mind was what Rani portrayed.

Konkona: Page 3

A thorough professional, dedicated and headlong into her vocation was Konkona's character in Page 3. Distinguishing the right from the wrong and living life on her terms was what her character all about. Despite all the odds, she manages to carve a niche for her in her profession.

Rani: Yuva

The role demanded an actor of substance and Rani excelled superlatively. A very raw and unpolished character, Rani still stood out for her firm and immoving depiction. Her character of an aggressive girl doubled up with mellow, simply took her performance to dizzying heights.

Konkona: Omkara

It is nothing new that Konkona makes a towering impact every time she appears on screen. She may have had a minuscule role in this film, but she raises the bar with her performance, and how! Her relinquished emotions spiced up with anger were portrayed skillfully with her facial expressions.

Rani: Hum Tum

Amongst all her roles mentioned so far, this is one role where Rani played a vivacious youngster with ease. To be blunt and rude, yet naughty and romantic, Rani came as a thorough 'pro' in this film.

Konkona: Life in a Metro

A young and nave character with a pleasant romantic edge was Konkona's character in this film. She adapting herself into the metropolitan way of life like fish taking to water is something that needs to be watched, rather than be read.

Both great actress

But I love Konkona's acting since all the characters she did, it's very different from each other. She acts natural. Whenever I'm watching her movies, it feels as if I'm watching her true story 👏
