Dumped by Kareena, Shahid turns smoker

A very close pal of the actor revealed to us, "Shahid has always been an extremely health conscious guy. He never smoked a cigarette or touched alcohol. He never ate non – vegetarian food as well and in fact it was he who inspired Bebo to turn veggie from being a hardcore non vegetarian food lover. But this break up has thrown him totally off the hook. He has stopped his regular workouts too after arriving back from Canada."

According to the pal, "When one of our friends visited him 2-3 days back after his arrival, there were cartons of a popular cigarette brand that he had brought along with him from Canada for himself. When we enquired with the unit members of Lucky Charm, we were shocked to find out that it was during the last 4-5 days of his schedule itself that he had started smoking heavily. Those days the photographs of Saif – Kareena hanging out together at late nights had started appearing in the media. Shahid had been extremely upset and was keeping all his pain within himself. He was not speaking much even with his co-stars or the crew members beyond the formalities. He would often smoke in his room alone."

Adds the friend, "Both his parents don't have a clue about his smoking habits yet. We have been trying to dissuade him from falling prey to this vice but he is no mood to listen. He is already going through the toughest time in his life and we don't want to further upset him by forcing anything on him. But it is a sad sight for us to see the ever cheerful guy, so depressed."

Interestingly, after she caught a fancy for the Chote Nawaab, Kareena - we heard from close sources – has turned back into a hard core non-vegetarian.

Jab We Spoke

A unit member from the Jab We Met sets disclosed to us a small incident between the two estranged lovers on the final day of the film's shoot on October 2 in Future Studios, Mumbai.

The unit member told us, "Kareena went to Shahid's make up room and asked him, what clothes he will be wearing for the shot. Shahid directed his finger to the clothes hanging in the room. He then told her with a smile, don't worry I won't keep you waiting; I will be on the shooting floor in exactly 10 minutes. They behaved very professionally with each other never once dropping a hint about what has been happening in their personal life."
