Shah Rukh Khan watched India score a spectacular and well deserved victory over Pakistan in the Twenty20 World Championships final at Johannesburg Monday

24 September 2007 (Sawf News) - Shah Rukh Khan watched India score a spectacular and well deserved victory over Pakistan in the Twenty20 World Championships final at Johannesburg Monday. Shahrukh Khan, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Vijay Mallya flew to Johannesburg in the business tycoon private jet Sunday.

"I am here to back India, who have been playing really well in this tournament. They have already done us proud and I hope they prevail over another team that has been doing well," said Shah Rukh

just wana say i know srk live and brought up in india but he shudnt have jumped up n down and danced to wen pakistan players got out. and wen they won. he is a muslim at the end of the day and many muslims idolise him and they werent happy about it i was there i mean he didnt even say anything to the pak players he onli went to the indian players..yh he praised them on t.v dats it..i wasnt happy nor were the people standing around me.. he shud have respected both religions n he loudly stated he supportd india i mean cum on muslims aint gna lyk dat...then he says im here to back india and hope they prevail the other team...other team is pakistan dude and its a holy month RAMADAN

whoever gave him that advice to keep that long hair needs to be fired IMMEDIATELY. he looks absolutely horrible with that long hair.

shahrukh is an indian first....it doesn't matter if he is a muslim or for that matter of any religion...India is a sovereign state and it respects all religion so it makes total sense to me that he was supporting the team from his own country INDIA....as do all the other muslims in India!

im not sayn dont support india at least respect the othe team..im wasnt they onli one u try telling thousands of pakistan fans try 2 understand they wont see it like dat......

hey why r u bringing religion in sports he is indian and has full right to support india he didn't say anything against pakistani players or team he was cheering for indian team cuz he is indian not pakistani. have u ever seen any pakistani cheering for india when the match is like that one i don't think so.

i am muslim and half pakistani but still i supported pakistan cuz i have lived there more than india and srk he is 100% indian so why would he support pakistan 😳

and about muslim there are more muslim people living in india than in pakistan even many indian players are muslim it is not about religion but about love for the country they belong.😕

I cannot believe these comments are in a forum about bollywood news and gossip. First of all,it's a cricket match and not a holy war. Second of all, it's India vs. Pakistan and not Muslims vs. Hindus. The Indian team is composed of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians. Shah Rukh Khan was supporting his country and his team. I am sure he never even thought of his religion. It's sad that you can't do the same!

well that's fine but don't drag religion in everything. if your country's team is winning aren't you gonna jump up and down?? i am sorry but i don't understand your point there. I am not a muslim and 90% of the people in my country are...so that means I jump up and down whem my team is winning...regardless of who the other team is.

Isn't India a miscallaneous of Muslims as well ? .SRK was brought up in Delhi, he is an Indian oriiginally, so why is it deleterious to hear he was supporting India ? but I still feel he was quiet misanthropic towards the Paki's.Well it's finished now and India won so let's deference their victory,but still I would say SRK emerged frivolous and flippant, hope that doesnt sound nefarious.Thanks for the Pics.
