Did you like Rustom(2016)???

Rustom is one of Akshay Kumar's best movies. He acted well there. I don't know if he deserved the National Award or not, though.

Ileana was also damn good.

The movie is a good watch, but the courtroom drama in second half drags a bit. That's d only flaw I can think of.

Otherwise, it's a well-made movie about love, second chances, provocation, and redemption.

Based on a real-life event, it's a powerful movie with powerful emotions.

Thoughts??

Akshay didn't do anything different in Rustom than say Prithviraj, Raksha bandhan or Laxmi. And Rustom was a really bad movie IMO.🤡

Most people have good things to say about the movie, though

I do like that movie. I find the plot is so different and intriguing. As you mentioned it is one of the films about second chance. And it's so rarely to see in Bollywood the male lead plays a Parsi character. Ileana has a very lovely presence in the film.

Based on a real-life event, it's a powerful movie with powerful emotions. I can't agree more.

Agree AK didn't show any nuance, it was just ordinary

And Ileana didn't look the part at all

Despite having a solid, unique, interesting and intriguing story the movie was no good

Could be the director's fault

Just goes to show BW has no interest in hiring decent writers at all...

Either that or India has such dearth of talent that even all of BW's money is not enough to buy a good writer

I used to give Asoka, Devdas as examples... Rustom can ge added to the list of movies ruined by bad writing, directing despite a great and original story

Was ok ok! Could have been much better
