Yes. But that wasn't the only reason. Kareena didn't want to give as many dates as Bhansali wanted and she thought she would rather do two movies in that time. So she signed GTPM & some other movie with Ajay Devgan & Amitabh. Both were bad movies & flopped!
I think she went on a signing spree after she left RL and used that as an excuse to refute the "got fired for getting married" bs that Bhansali pulled (he is such an ass for doing that to her), which is a horrible narrative to set if you are an actress in your 30s getting married and not wanting marriage to be a detriment to your career (we know how horrible Bollywood was to married actresses). She needed to change the narrative, so being seen as an idiot for giving up a potential blockbuster is comparatively better for her image.
She was only a few weeks away from filming RL, so obviously her schedule had already been worked out. The whole 'not wanting to give Bhansali additional dates' reason was the excuse she used to justify the films she hurriedly signed after to fill up her suddenly empty schedule.
I think it was a smart move on Kareena's part...for coming up with a game plan to save face from what SLB did to her. And it worked. She changed the narrative - marriage did not affect her career in the end.
