I don't care much for the guy but I can respect his hustle. He's been in the industry for a decade but only has been noticed for the past 4-5 years, so I'm sure his life has changed quite dramatically. And now so after a big hit.

But still it's annoying when the newbie actors get 1-2 good films, and get cocky😆

Not sure why people think he’s cocky. He seemed fine to me. Even if he is cocky, so what? You all drool when nepo’s act entitled and cocky. This same forum salivates over Alia, Ranbir, SRK, etc and they are the most arrogant and even mock others. At least Kartik is respectful to others.

When you are an outsider with no backing, to make it big like he has you have to be your own PR, like it or not. No one else will do it for him and he can't wait for when others will do it. With detractors like he has , it may never(they will only bring him down). Always make a point to plugin how you are better, your achievements etc.(which are facts ..not fake)..you do it with clients to sell your products/services..he is selling himself as an actor..his BO returns only have got him where he is today...he has to ensure that it's highlighted and reminded to all the producers out there.

I don't think Kartik is some great actor, but he isn't bad either. Having caught my eye at first sight from his first movie, I have followed and watched all his movies without thinking much. Akash Vaani is his best movie..a must watch romance for anyone who hasn't. Got new found admiration for him for Koki Poochega that he did during Covid. He is not articulate, but comes across as honest and himself in his interviews. I never thought, one day he'll become the most sought after star. Not someone who likes people who toot their own horn, but in sometimes it''s required. Iam rooting for him.

Nice interview, hope Shehzada does good business.

But i think he has put on some weight and his face looks a bit bloated. The charm he had during 2019-2020 is missing.

During those years he used to be mischievous and had easy going while giving interviews now he looks too serious ,seems like the fued with kjo has made him more responsible and focused which Is a good thing but he has to take care of his looks and health as well.

@Bold- This!!! I'll not even go too far n take the recent example of how the entire industry promoted and hyped JJJ like no tomorrow despite it being a big time underperformer, whereas not even his co-stars be it Tabu Or Kiara showed much interest in BB2's promotions ye akele hi pagal jaise promote kar raha tha😆. A film which pretty much was the only saving grace for BW this year deserves all the hype n more.

OT- I like how is a lot more poised now unlike before when he used to be really jumpy. Its evident why the guy is not only managing to survive but also thrive against all odds, Kartik definitely is smart, his struggle to success story is one of its kind and he makes it a point to highlight it without making it seem like he is trying to seek sympathy, the way he told the whole 3rd hand car story mazaak mazaak mein was wow😆

Oh I'm not that into nepos. My posts should be proof of that😆

I was speaking more from experience from being a former fan. Was a big Ranveer fan back in the day, until he veered way off center. Now I tend to be guarded with any actor (non-nepo or nepo lol)

But yeah, I do like that Karthik's having a taste of success, despite industry insider attempts to derail/malign him these past few years

Too true, but Tabu doesn't promote much. I think Kiara also promoted but it was very professional on what she was paid to do

She just did a few interviews post the success.

But yes Karthik promoted like crazy. The producers themselves said that he went above and beyond to promote the film.

I think he agreed in this interview because I think he really believed that this would be a success so kudos to him.

But yes unlike the nepo kids who are promoted so high. He has to blow his own trumpet.

I did not even see a lot of congratulatiory messages on the film success from most of the fraternity either

He has massive detractors, classic case of kwk season and the JJJ promotions

Hey, all 3 can be possible at the same time.

1. He is happy about his success which is totally deserved given how much he hustled.

2. He is getting the word out there.

3. He is having a little moment to himself given how much his detractors wanted to drag him down 😆.

He *has* to promote himself because unlike the nepo brigade, no one else is going to call him the Indian Daniel Day Lewis or the 2nd Shah Rukh Khan. And it is perfectly human to feel a little ego boost.

Will be interesting to watch if he manages to keep ego to a minimum while still promoting himself.

@bold: absolutely with you on this one! he caught my eye during his very first PK movie itself with his monologue being stood out. he also had adorable chemistry with Nusrat in those movies. I really really liked Akaash Vaani and the message it came with. loved the ending tbh!

I started liking him more post Sonu movie coz he definitely had that X-factor and screen presence where he held the entire movie on his own pretty much although the whole starcast was fab for that movie. I absolutely am looking forward to his movies line-up. Coming to think of it, I have watched most of his movies in theater except PKP 1 and Akaash Vaani.
