Alia vs. Deepika

Earlier, I was a blind fan of Deepika's and used to hate Aloo. But after watching Gangubai, I came to the conclusion that my views were not balanced. So I simply took a step back and decided to analyze Aloo vs. Deepika in a more objective way.

1. They are the top 2 actresses today, no doubt about that.

2. Aloo is a better performer, overall.

3. Deepika is a better actress in the sense of acting in the framework of Bollywood. She matches the physical requirements of a top actress and has the aura which Aloo lacks.

4. Alia has more star power, as of today. 2 100-crore films under her kitty, both where she carries the film on her shoulders and people flocked to the theatres to watch her.

5. Overall, both are good in their own place even though diametrically opposite as chalk and cheese.

6. Deepika is a better looker and better dancer.

I still maintain one thing - in the context of Bollywood and my personal view, Deepika has an upper hand because of the glam quotient ( Aloo is 0 in that) and also because she nails acting in some films.

However, the audience seems to prefer Alia as of today.

Thoughts????

Deepika is gorgeous, with a chiselled face and a toned body, Alia is more on the cuter side, I mean nothing extraordinary about her looks but she is a far better actor IMO. Deepika is not bad either but those watery eyes all the time with a robotic way of speaking, I would hardly call that good acting, but that's just me. The main problem is her dialogue delivery, it's a huge turn off.

Alia is a far better actress and has been since the start. Alia gave a stellar performance in Highway which was her second film. Deepika gave us thenga in BAH and still hasn’t learned how to modulate her voice properly. The only thing DP can do well is fill her eyes with water during sad scenes. I’ll give her that

I still find Alia's crying poor. I don't like how kjo's guests are forced to name alia as best actress on KWK and how easily she gets other peoples' roles.

Other actresses would have more chance of being number 1 if they got the projects Alia got

Deepika is a better 'heroine' in bollywood sense and Alia is the better actor..Even as a kid she acted better in Sangharsh compared to Deepika at her best

Deepika ne bahut movies me kaam kiya, kuch achi kuch buri, bahut logo ke reject kiye project kiya, sab movies me uske liye roles nahi like

Alia ki 2nd movie Highway jisme sab aise tarif kiya jaise bahut acha kaam kiya ho, watch that movie once if you come out of her nostrils unscathed then I'll give a tap on your back.

Why is it always Alia vs Deepika everywhere. Why not Alia vs PC or Alia vs Kangana. Since everyone likes to point out how superior aloo is to DP, it's time Aloo gets compared to other actresses of BW.

As an audience you have to connect with the characters the actress played on screen...i can connect with deepika character... In om shanti om , shanti priya character, veronica in cocktail, naina talwar, meena, leela, malti, alisha...

But with alia bhatt i couldn't...

But i dont know how you guys are saying alia is the best actress... I don't... I am South Indian... Though I don't understand hindi, I can connect with deepika... Not only deepika but also with parineeti who is better actress than alia...

Even I watched gangubai but couldn't say that..

Any way it's my view...

If any other actress had gotten the movies Aloo got, they wouldn't have made it if they couldn't act... the girl made it because she CAN act...

I pray that a day will arrive when you will take a step back and analyze your stand on HR...
