This is the result of people putting Bacchans in a pedestal so being getting engaged to someone like Abhishek gets treated as a feat .

I keep thinking...how miserably unhappy the bride to be looked, how disgustedly uncomfortable when her future MIL hugged her and how fortuitous she did not marry into such a family, that no one even remembers because they are not one of the most iconic film families in the country, plus it would have been a boring life of "guarded respectability" who wants Aishwarya's life!! and how well Karishma did after with the guy she ended up...I mean the, I am sure wonderful husband that she did marry...life sort of works itself out...kinda thing.
