Love triangles where the third wheel has no character development

In Jab We Met, the guy that Kareena originally loved had zero personality and had no redeeming qualities. Maybe this was done to make us root for Shahid, but it was far too one-sided and pointless showing that she was choosing between them later.

In Hasee Toh Phasee, Adah's character was shown as a one-dimensional, irritating and demanding woman who was selfish. Made you wonder how he was with her for seven years if the relationship was such a nightmare. Her character development was non-existent and people couldn't care less about her in the film, so much so that several people liked the film even when Sidharth dumps her on the wedding day and kisses her sister just outside the wedding venue.

Not sure if Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon counts. We don't see much of Abhishek's personality. He just goes around smiling creepily, watching Kareena's photos secretly on his laptop, and talking at a low volume.

but TBH, if I was Kareena I would have easily picked him. HR had to be on some type of illegal substance from the way he was acting.

I agree with your take on Karishma, but I that the writers even cared for Anushmann. He was just to take the plot forward, jyaada kuch kaam tha nahi uska.

But Adah was really beautiful in HTP and I wish they gave her more to work with on her character.

She chose him because she and her entire family(including the pets) were also on the same substance and it only made sense for her to seek out for a guy who could fit right in. 😂

Yeah, he was just too perfect, always smiling, agreeing on everything..he was not shown that angry or hurt even on his engagement day.

I agree they didn't show enough of her positives. By the time we see her character, she seems to be always disappointed/negative. I found her character realistic though. She had to deal with a fiance for years who just kept borrowing money from her family, kept saying he will succeed soon,all talk no action, etc.

Yeah..and they can be just taken as side characters, not as a part of love triangle..

Opposites attract. He could've taken her to another town where the air is not mixed with whatever the heck everyone in this movie was sniffing 😆 Government should take action in that area 😡

I don't know why, I can't root the main leads in this movie, eventhough, I can understand them..

They didn't show Sid and Adah's relationship moments at all but just knowing they were together for 7 years and in the movie, seeing both not focusing on each other just feels something is off..
