To be fair, most of the popular actresses are not that good! Kat, Anushka, DP and even Aish was bland. I am not saying all top actresses were bad but Deepika has a few good films, but most of her movies I am not a fan of her acting.

Deepika made it purely due to her looks. Her acting has improved since Ram Leela and Piku but her biggest weakness is her voice modulation and pathetic dialogue delivery. Hardly any improvement in all these years.

As an actor she is not horrible but just above average. And she gets awards because most others are even worse actors than she is. Compared to other plastic mannequins and expressionless botox queens Deepika still seems better. Her success reminds me of that andho mein kaana raja proverb.
