Amazing 👏 These people really live in their bubble. She failed despite coming from film background...big deal...she became a producer from her brother in law movies. She was given a chance to produce. Audience rejected her from her debut movie itself but She got a YRF film as her debut which common people dont even get. Some only stand in line and dream about it. She got a debut film without auditions. She was offered on a silver platter. No struggle at all. Despite having her a flop debut movie, she got a second movie to try her luck again. There are so many outsiders that dont even get a chance to get a second film after having a flop debut. I agree Nepotism is everywhere, we common people also do that. Atleast they should accept that in their industry Nepotism is there. Outsiders have to work twice as hard to have half of what Nepotism kids have.

I came across this quote so thought of sharing

"Nepotism is a disease, which cannot be transmitted but can only be inherited.

neal and nikki wasn't her debut, it was her RELAUNCH. So she got umpteen chances.

and failure? Doesn't she run some division of her bro-in-law's production company?

Those days I was not brave enough to walk out, as I should have, but that's another discussion.

The fact is: audiences drive the market for nepotism to thrive. Look at Baby Taimur, he had fan-clubs since he was 2 weeks old. The fanbase is already there for star kids. And then the same fans criticise the system which we have created.

That is not necessarily a true statement. Also, I don't get why we feel the need to "defend" nepotism.

Yes. Her debut was SSsshh ( yes that is a real movie) and she was beyond pathetic in that movie. It released in 2003..the same year a bunch of much better talent (outsiders) made their way..PC..lara..Amrita Rao etc..and she was rejected right away. Neal and Nikki was a big relaunch which i trust no outsider to get..it is a diff story it was even worse and tanisha was horrible..but the point is..no outsider would get this kind of relaunch as a lead in a YRF movie after such a disastrous debut..and this is YRF of 2005 not today..when they were known to hardly ever give flops..the word hit was associated with YRF as almost 90% of their movies would be hits..humtum..bunty-babli..veer zaara..these were the movies coming from the PH back to back every year..

Thanks dear...i didn't even know she had other movie other than neal and nikki....oh gosh she was pathetic in that movie ..she can't act, dance or even do lip sync...

I don't think that anyone DEFENDS nepotism...but most of us acknowledge that if we had a chance we would also promote our own...that is a very very human thing to want to help and further your own family and friends if you can...and I understand that there is a small percentage of very evolved and spiritual beings who would shove their own child aside and give that chance to a promising outsider....but I am talking about the lesser mortals like myself who have not achieved that level yet...agle janam maybe.....of course it should be with the legal and moral limits....which have been discussed many time...latest example...Krit...a true blue outsider....imagine what she would have done or would do for her sister if she was as resourceful as a KJo or a Salman Khan.....so I don't judge people who indulge in nepotism or are a product of nepotism....bus don't tell me your struggle stories...because you have none compared to a real outsider..the beauty is that the undeserving ones...like Tanisha, Tusshar, Esha Deol etc etc are weeded out by the audience...it doesn't matter who their mai-baap is..😆

What! A relaunch? She had a debut before Neal and Nikki? No outsider gets a relaunch

Idiot wants to be number one here also!! Awful person and even more awful personality. Somebody needs to tell her there are many vying for that position. Nepotism is the only reason she even got to give this interview. Madam aapki nail salon ka karcha abhi bhi nepotism hi pay kar rahi hai.

Not really. She got a YRF debut. For an outsider, getting a role in a movie itself is like winning the Powerball jackpot. It only happens if you're really really lucky, in the right place at the right time, a one in 50 million type of chance.

The women at least have the pageant pipeline but I'm sure there are connections and politics within that structure too. In the US, pageant contestants have to work their way up from local pageants to state pageants to the national one. In India, it's straight to Miss India with no other prep required. There's gotta be a huge amount of shit happening in there too. For instance, Aishwarya was already considered to win even before she decided to enter because she was pretty. 😆

You have to be born for it either way - either by having the right parents or by having an immense amount of god-gifted luck. It has nothing to do with talent either because lots of talented people don't make it anywhere.

Miss India has many rounds and selections happening at city level. The city contestants take part in state level selections. Then the selected participate in Miss India. One of my friends tried in this competition, but failed at state level.
