Nepotism did not fail her

She failed nepotism, because someone with her contacts and even a mediocre level of talent could have made a decent career out of it. All she has achieved despite her contacts is being the most whiny, annoying Bigg Boss contestant

What do you expect when you try to make your "grand debut" with a sleazefest like Neal n Niki.😆 Did they really think people would enjoy a movie where girls walk around like strippers in broad daylight and boys are all just trying to get in your figurative pants?!

What was YRF even trying to do? Redefine the definition of love with Uday Chopra making pathetic attempts to pull SRK and building bollywood romance around that hot mess that made no sense at all?!!

Not to forget that song "Hey i am the Neal, i am the man, rockstar superstar and then .... brace yourself, Nikki Bakshi, sweet and sexy, full on rocking, hot and happening." 🤪 Cuz they were the new generation kids, too cool for school.

I still feel sorry for Uday and Tanisha when I look back ...but with a mild amusement at those lofty goals gone so SOOO terribly wrong.😆

🤣

Meaning that nepotism isn't the sole reason other insiders are able to keep a career afloat in Bollywood.

Nepotism did give her a headstart but she couldn't get audience approval.

You're being too nice to her. That's not what she said at all. She actually suggested outsiders don't face the same difficulties star kids do. Basically implying they're separate kinds of struggle but equal.

They are in no way equal.

Oh, and also that she failed because of expectations. #eyeroll

I think nepotism was a 2 way street back in the day. While the nepotism beneficiary got a launch, it was also a business tactic for producers and film makers. Back then, without social media, couldn't really promote movies the way we do today with trailers in YouTube, viral videos, interviews, promoting films and appearances in shows; and audiences weren't necessarily as open about novel scripts. Back then to make a film run you either needed hit songs, superstars/well known faces, OR someone related to a superstar you can market. In those days I remember there was hype that Amitabh's son and Karisma's little sister was being launched and Refugee actually look a big opening for two newcomers.

But times have changed, audiences have changed, and producers no longer need this nepotism angle to market a film. Thanks to social media, there are so many ways to market movies and get audiences to the theaters. I think the trends will change now.
