are you talking about the same movie where she not only sucked but she also messed up the role with her poor acting skills? no wonder she got panned by critics and viewers alike! all of them collectively stated that this role required a much stronger, talented actress...so please!
but you tried though 😏
First of all, I nowhere said she is a great actress. My point was her making bold choices. There are way too many bad actresses in Bollywood. Sonam is better than at least a few of them.
Also, since you're saying she got panned by critics and viewers alike, let's take a look at some reviews may be. None of them wrote a scathing review which you're claiming all critics have written.
Sonam, well served by the angularities of a screen persona that keeps cockiness at bay, projects a convincing combination of vulnerability and assertion in a way that only she can. - NDTV
Then there’s Sonam Kapoor in the central role. In flashes she effectively conveys the anguish of a young woman forced to hide what’s in her heart, but it’s never a performance that rips your heart out like it should. The problem is Sonam doesn’t dig deep enough to find out who Sweety really is. - Rajeev Masand
Sonam is suitably fragile, and Kollywood/Tollywood star Regina Cassandra has an arresting screen presence. Their equation though is overshadowed by the warm chemistry between Sonam and Anil on the one hand, Sonam and Rao on the other. - Anna Vetticad
The ensemble is solid, but neither Ahuja, who has been upping her game in her last few films, nor the usually dependable Rao, have the desired impact: at least he’s always trying something; I didn’t buy her at all. - Shubhra Gupta
Sonam K Ahuja plays the central role and while she does manage to bring in the required vulnerability to her character, she doesn't always convince you of Sweety’s emotional conflict - Times of India
Sonam Kapoor brings anguish to the lead role of Sweety, but there isn’t much personality to the part — we never get to see what she’s like, or even what she likes. Then again, this could be an attempt to universalise the character so people can identify more readily with this simple, sad girl. - Hindustan Times
