Day after actor Kangana Ranaut demanded security from the Himachal Pradesh police, saying she is "more scared of the Mumbai police" and compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed her and said she should not teach Mumbai, Maharashtra or its people how to behave.

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar said the party does not agree with Kangana Ranaut's statement on the state or its capital, Mumbai.

Speaking with India Today TV, Ashish Shelar said, "We do not support the statement of Kangana Ranaut on Mumbai. We are seeing how Sushant Singh Rajput's death inquiry is on and even before final findings are out, all sorts of efforts are being made to take it to some other direction by some leaders."

"We are clear in our position. Kangana Ranaut shouldn't try to teach Mumbai, Maharashtra and its people how to behave," he said.

"We also request Sanjay Raut not to try and attack BJP and misdirect the investigation in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. We also want to tell Sanjay Raut to stop deviating attention," Ashish Shelar said.

On Thursday, Kangana Ranaut had alleged on Twitter that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had threatened her openly and asked her not to return to Mumbai.

"Sanjay Raut Shiv Sena leader has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir?" Kangana Ranaut posted on Twitter.

Following which, Sanjay Raut said Kangana Ranaut should approach the police with evidence and prove that he threatened her rather than "playing on Twitter".

On August 30, Kangana Ranaut had said that she is "scared of Mumbai police than the movie mafia goons" and demanded security for either Himachal police or the Centre to expose the Bollywood-Drug mafia nexus.

"I am actually more scared of Mumbai police now than movie mafia goons, in Mumbai I would need security either from HP government or directly from the Centre, No Mumbai police please," Kangana Ranaut said.

Kangana Ranaut has been lashing out at the cliques and nepotism in Bollywood since the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

It was very clear they were annoyed by her latest rant on Mumbai with their spooky absence on her twitter yesterday. Good for them, good for India if she keeps on making such comments- one less corrupted politician to endure.

I guess BJP finally waking up their pet attack dog has gone rougue!

Have been saying this since long.. BJP doesnt encourage trouble mongers.. Kangana would never have made it to the party.. They dont even encourage bullshit talks by their own members.. Have been quick to disassociate themselves from such comments..

Have even kept a certain controversial member of BJP at bay so far😆..

But opposition is hell bent on making this a pro and anti centre issue.. Good that they finally spoke up

Like I said before BJP will never endorse this cause they are the first one to utilise the same dhamki for anyone who has ever tried to criticise their governance 😆 She is unknowingly destroying their weapon by calling it out 😆

Is there any doubt that Kangana’s goal is to eventually get into politics? She keeps herself in the limelight with her “controversial” comments. But her problem is her abrasive behaviour, which has annoyed even the party she wants to eventually work with.

She is just making it too easy for the people to spin her tweets and make it about bigger issues like nationalism, blah blah, and creating nuisance for BJP.

She really should (but won’t) re think her strategy. It was absurdly funny when she was ranting butt hurt when there was a party she wasn’t invited to, but some of her tweets are just.... wrong

Kangana's ego and narcissism is so high that even her pet party would be wary of her. Look at the kind of comments she's making.
