The problem with KJO is that he is too outward and open with his biases. Instead of staying in his lane as a producer and creative, he tried to expand his brand and establish himself as a celebrity and public figure. A studio head and director who holds a lot of influence in the industry should have no business hosting a talk show like KWK, where actors are mocked and belittled and the guests are egged on to tear others down. Where outsiders like SSR were made the butt of jokes. Where KJO himself partakes in the shaming and gossiping, he looked so amused and pleased in those clips where SSR was mocked.
The show might be harmless fun for insiders since they’re all in cahoots with one another and run in the same social circles, but imagine what the show does to outsiders like SSR who are cast aside and excluded? It’s not a pleasant feeling to be looked down on by your fellow contemporaries, constantly mocked and not given proper credit for your accomplishments. It also destroys your image in the eyes of the viewers.
It’s the same thing with the blinds and media smear campaigns. The insiders have strong family backings and connections to survive the negativity, they have powerful people to vouch for them and get them roles inspite of any negative press they face. SSR had no support and backing to fall on. The blinds and incessant negative press not only destroyed his reputation but put his career in grave danger. He could have very well lost out on opportunities due to what was being written about him.
100% agree. At least thodi toh ethics honi chahiye.
Owner of a major production house hosts chat show where guest actors are encouraged to shade.
Major critic/journalist who writes salacious blinds also reviews movies and holds actor's roundtables.
