The film had enough going for it: great songs, good entertainment quotient, Ranbir and Deepika working together after their break-up, a director fresh from the success of Wake Up Sid and characters who seemed real and not contrived.
I know a lot of people loved this film, but the love story was problematic. So, for 150 minutes, Bunny goes on and on about how his dream is to travel the world and not settle down and rot in one place. Great. But when he falls in love with Naina, seeing her without glasses and in a sexy saree, and when the threat of losing her to Vikram is real, he drops the dream like a hot potato. That was so filmy and unbelievable!
I know love conquers all, but that the film did't score much on the relatability factor.
