was Mithun da overrated dancer or one of the best dancers?

never really got the fascination people had for his dance. Did people took his title of disco dancer seriously or he was truly gifted as a dancer? apart from that movie where he danced well all the other movies I watched never really got impressed with his dance. I love him was his acting but as a dancer Govinda was first proper male dancer.

Bollywood me sab bhed chal hai. Kisi ne bol diya k Mithun da is the original disco dancer BW had, everyone went on with the chant and the tag remained with him and the legacy still continues.

So are you trying to say the above is not fascinating enough.

one or two movements doesn't make you a gifted dancer, I heard he had a blackbelt in martial arts maybe that helped him for some moves, but hardly impressive.

In India dance is a feeling/celebration,doesn't matter if you arent good dancer technically. He was quite popular at B and C centres in his prime. His dance and films were loved by them.

But today he's a grand judge of popular dance show, that's atrocious.

Over rated actually but yes he could move his body much more than other actors of those times.

Govinda is good dancer he has natural rhythm in his body

I think if he had debuted today he wouldn’t be considered any kind of a dancer. But for his era where men pretty much repeated one or two moves rigidly he was able to move with much more flexibility and actually follow the rhythm of the music and song. I guess choreographers were able to do more with him.

Honestly his dance didn’t make much sense, he was better than most in his era but included him as one of greats in dancing category is insult to powerful dancers like govinda, Hrithik.
