Does the Star matter?

Marjaavaan is expected to rake in a good amount for its first day. Does this go against the idea of flop stars not having BO pull? Seems like genre and the film is more important, the star does not matter anymore.

That's why I don't take these so called superstars seriously. An actor should be judged by his/her acting skills and not by his/her looks and hits.

The west and even east have evolved in cinema and even moved beyond the whole superstar thing. There are A list actors who have huge roles in big franchises but they also are involved in Oscar caliber movies. India is still stuck in the 90s...
