Ishq Vishk is the film that set relationship goals and made us believe in love; it certainly gave a new face to college romance. The film turned out to be the best opportunity for the inception of Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao’s careers. Amrita essayed the role of Payal, a girl who was head-over-heels in love with Shahid’s character Rajiv in the film. On the other hand, Shahid aka Rajiv fell in love with another girl, played by Shenaz Treasury.
The critically acclaimed film received many accolades from the fans as well and they have been waiting for a sequel. But, it might be difficult to radiate the on-screen presence created by Shahid and Amrita, and their chemistry is unbeatable!
While the film was widely loved, the producer of Ishq Vishk, Ramesh Taurani has recently confirmed that 16 years after its release, the romantic college drama is all set to get a sequel. The cast of the sequel hasn’t been decided yet, although it is Amrita Rao’s wish to see Sara Ali Khan play her role in the new film.
At a recent media interaction, Amrita was asked Asked about Ishq Vishk 2, “The way I look right now, I think I can be cast opposite Ishaan Khatter (Shahid’s brother).” When the actress was asked to choose between Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, the Vivah actress said, “Maybe Sara can play Payal and Tara can play Shenaz’s character.”
If the reports are to go by Ishaan Khattar will be seen reprising Shahid’s character in Ishq Vishk 2. However, according to reports, Ishaan had rubbished the rumors of doing the sequel.
Now that Amrita has revealed her ideas for reprising the characters, it would have been fun to see Sara-Tara-Ishaan diving-in to share the screen together. The trio might be a successful attempt as the actors have grabbed the audiences with the previous performances.
