Karan Johar often finds himself in controversies, may it be the ongoing nepotism war between him and Kangana Ranaut or the famous KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya controversy. Looks like the filmmaker has yet again found landed himself in trouble. Recently, the Kalank's new item song 'Aira Gaira', which features Kriti Sanon, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Varun Dhawan, was released.

The song has been getting mixed reviews from the audiences. Some viewers have been really admiring Kriti, Aditya and Varun's work in the song; others have been bashing it, especially producer Karan Johar.

Twitterati's are miffed with Karan Johar for going back on his word regarding item songs. In 2017, Karan Johar had said in an interview, "The moment you put a woman in the centre and a thousand men looking at her lustingly, it's setting the wrong example. As a filmmaker, I have made those mistakes and I will never do it again."

The 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' director is facing a lot of flak for not staying true to himself and is being called a hypocrite.

'Kalank' is a periodical drama set in the 1940s and features Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sonakshi Sinha, Kunal Khemu, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. Directed by Abhishek Verman, the movie is slated to release on 17th April.
