Manushi Chhillar Seeks Transfer to Mumbai Medical College From Sonipat to Complete Her MBBS Course
Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar to Forego Bollywood For a Career in Medicine?

Former Miss World Manushi Chhillar had made the country proud when she won the crown in 2017, but it was not only her beauty that had made her a winner. Manushi, who had cleared the All India Pre Medical Test in her first attempt, had been pursuing a medical degree (MBBS) at the Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women at Khanpur Kalan in Sonipat before entering the pageant. Now it has emerged that she is planning on completing the rest of her course.
According to a report in The Tribune, Manushi has sought to be transferred to a medical college in Mumbai where she can continue her studies. The report stated that a source close to the family had revealed Manushi sought the transfer as her father, Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, who is a scientist at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and the rest of the family have shifted there.
However, official sources said that she sought the transfer on grounds that her life has taken a different turn since she was crowned Miss World, and that she wants to pursue the remaining part of her MBBS course in Mumbai. Authorities of Pt BDS University of Health Sciences in Rohtak said an NOC has been issued.
There had been rumours that Manushi would be making her Bollywood debut soon, and she had last year herself said that if she gets an opportunity to work in the film industry, she would love to star in an action movie.
"I would like to do an action movie, and in which I am doing the action. I don't want to be a damsel in distress. I want to be a superhero. I would love to do that," Manushi had said when she was at the Big FM radio station.
"I don't have a production house, so I can't tell you that when my film will come. In life, all things have come to me as a surprise and I didn't have any plans to do films. So let's see how it goes," she had said then.
During the talk back then she had also spoken about completing her studies and being able to start treating patients. She was quoted as having said, "I hope people never get a need to visit a doctor, but people can come to Dr. Manushi Chhillar after three years when I will complete my medical studies."
