Shah Rukh Khan discusses his FEARS after Zero's FAILURE at the box office

Bollywood Hungama News Network

Shah Rukh Khan has been having a hard luck at the box office lately. His last movie Zero did not make the cut as a commercially viable film and also got written off by the critics. Moving on, that led him to rethink his film choices and so he pulled himself out of his next project, Saare Jahan Se Accha. SRK was supposed to play Rakesh Sharma, first Indian astronaut to go in space. But Zero's debacle made him cautious and he withdrew from the movie. While we are waiting for him to officially announce his next, SRK spoke about his fears in his recent interview.
Shah Rukh Khan said that he is scared of the day when he would be too demotivated to take risks with the roles he chooses and will be trapped doing the same old mundane characters in boring films. He said that he does not want to wake up to a day where he is so tired to experiment that he would be stuck to doing regular films which get wrapped up in 40 days, earn a few bucks, buy a new car and move on to the same old routine.

Shah Rukh has tried playing diverse characters in the last few years. He also experimented with directors and different scripts. From playing a dark and intense double role in Fan to getting into the skin of a vertically challenged man in Zero, he tried to do different things but yet commercial success seems to evade him.
Shah Rukh Khan's last films: Zero, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Fan and Dilwale flopped at the box office. Only time will tell what Shah Rukh Khan will do next. Stay tuned.

Bhai mere, you always do the same thing, same acting.

Just get your script sense going good, you are loosing plot in 2nd half,

FAN was good, but revenge thing was trash for me.

As per media , Zero was good first half, to BC chand par jana zaroori tha kya.

Movie with meh story and meh characters didn't work so he pulled out of a biopic with probably good content and the kind of movie his fans actually want to see him in?

Well you should be worried.

I think he needs to do some safe movies for now because he definitely doesn't know what works when he experiments. Experiments like Rab ne were good but the ones like Fan and Zero.. I mean anybody could've told him that was not going to work. Fan could still have if not for that godawful makeup and weird 2nd half and I haven't watched Zero, but the trailer itself was trashy.

He needs to do some roles where he isn't being clownish. And also that suits his age. Not like JHMS. This biopic would've been a good opportunity for him. If there weren't other problems like director or script, then he shouldn't have left it.

The interview the Bollywood Hugama article refers to is in Deccan Chronicle and there isn't a confirmation that he has left the biopic project (last line):

How is a biopic same old routine stuff?
I don't think hez done a biopic.
He should have done this if he wanted to break monotony.

Biopics are doing well these days.

The main problem with his films has been lack of meaty scripts and he decides to opt out of a movie that has a solid story (if they are staying true to the real life story), a patriotic theme - something if done well sells like hotcakes in India.
Not sure why has he become so messed up when it comes to script selection. It's likes he just stubbornly refuses to learn from his mistakes when they are right there staring glaringly at him. Aamir was so quick to acknowledge that there were mistakes made after giving a flop in years.

Biopic is an experiment like fan, zero. So he thinks just bcos they didn't work, it won't work too being new stuff. What he don't realise is dey have problem in screenplay. While regular stuff when executed is sure shot success, others films r experiments which bcame huge hits. First it is the fault of directors who don't bring new stuff to him, now he is blaming audience.
